In another Post @Romulan Loyalist suggested that being that they've rebooted TOS with the JJ movies, the next step would be to reboot the TNG crew. In a purely hypothetical manner, what would be your dream casting choices if a big screen TNG reboot where to occur? @Smellmet

McAvoy typecast as younger PStew lol. Ohhh nice call with Cooper as Riker and Terry Crews would be freakin perfect as Worf.

The main target of the Tholians would be the saucer section commanded by Picard and with Troy flying. The stardrive section would be command by Riker, Data (flying as well as operations), Geordi, and Yar. The climax involves several ships assisting that they assisted during the spatial interphase (Yar is lost during a phase).

Another good choice for the role, but I think Bryce Dallas Howard has the edge here - I think her eyes look closer in appearance to Gates.
