TNG movie reboot dream casting

Crusher - Christina Hendricks
I could see it, but only if Space Smoking* is a thing in the TNG reboot now

(sidebar: no, vaping does not qualify as Space Smoking, it would have to be a Star Trek like solution, for reference see: Synthehol)

*(replace with appropriate tech, be sure to include expository dialogue explaining tech)

So many good shouts here guys. Bryce Dallas Howard as Crusher, Terry Crews as Worf, Tom Hiddleston as Data, Bradley Cooper as Riker are such great choices and I think we will have to discuss this idea in our Generations episode of the Podcast tbh but I almost think we'd have to go a little younger if this was to be a full reboot.

I just thought of a Wesley: Finn Wolfhard (Mike on Stranger Things).

For what it's worth, when the TNG blu rays started coming out 5 years ago, SFX magazine had a go at casting a theoretical TNG reboot movie. Admittedly their list has a touch of the "yesterday's stars" about it now, but on at least a couple of them I think they did nail it. I think most of these guys could actually fit the characters perfectly while bringing something 'modern' to each of them:

Jean-Luc Picard: Mark Strong
William Riker: Armie Hammer
Data: Edward Norton
Deanna Troi: Rachel Weisz
Worf: Jason Momoa
Dr. Beverley Crusher: Christina Hendricks
Geordi LaForge: Mekhi Phifer
