Prometheus 2: Apparently it's happening

When I first saw it I recalled back to Scott implying that Blade Runner and Alien were set in the same universe (there are other connections, see below) and that got me thinking about how the Indiana Jones franchise is all just the dreams of the Rick Deckard replicant. ;)

https://alienseries.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/blade-runneralien/
What would the timeline for this universe be? Would it be possible to throw the Predator stuff in there too, since it's crossed over with Alien(s)/Prometheus?

WOW! That is some seriously compelling evidence, going beyond some simple Easter eggs. Reminds me of when Ed Olmos suggested that NuBSG is actually a prequel to Blade Runner, with replicants just being the next generation of cylon creations by humans seeking to play God (all happened before, etc., etc.) and that Gav is a descendant of Adama.

In any of these "combined" theories, what would be the actual viewing order? NuBSG, Blade Runner, BSG TOS, BSG1980? Where would Alien / Prometheus fit in? *edit* I must not have refreshed in time to see the previous post. Soldier? Firefly? Yes, detailed timeline would be awesome. I love these kind of mental excercises.

I haven't seen Blade Runner in 15 years and I have yet to start either of the 4 BSG shows (TOS, 1980, Reboot, or Caprica.)

IIRC, the Aliens vs. Predator films are not necessarily in continuity with the rest of the Alien films as a whole.

Pretty sure only the 'Aliens vs. Predator' movies care that the 'Aliens vs. Predator' movies even exist. I doubt either the new Predator or Alien/Prometheus movies will pay them even the slightest attention.

In my head canon the movie Outland (1981) with Sean Connery is also set in the Alien universe. They both deal with space mining (run by conglomerate companies) and blue-collar characters, they both have similar technology and similar themes of isolation, remoteness and fear. (And both have an eerie soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith.)

The AVP extended media-which pretty much inspired the movies-is actually pretty good-the original comic (and a few of it's sequels) and the video game series, as well as some of the novels as well. It's the movies they kind of got wrong, but done right the concept can work.

There's also a nod in ALIENS to Terminator (sort of)-the "Hyperdyne" systems thing Bishop refers too was originally going to be "Cyberdyne" (although I think there's only one Terminator vs. Aliens comic out there).

What a sprawling, impressive universe that would be, Predators, Aliens, Terminators, Replicants and Cylons, Engineers, all inhabitating one single coherent timeline spanning thousands of years....

I can't imagine the havoc that would ensue if a xenomorph got loose on a ship the size of a battlestar.

Or more interestingly - what would be produced if face-hugger latched onto a NuBSG Cylon skin-job? How much organic and genetic material exists within the Cylon body that could be used to germinate a chest-burster? Or would the face-hugger ignore the Cylon entirely as not being a truly compatible biologic (like what happened in the Aliens novelization when Bishop made his way through a xenomorph nest on his way outside to get a new dropship)? Would the original five Cylons more organically compatible than their later creations? This all brings up some fascinating in-universe questions.

Like I already said, personally I would add:

2061 - Outland - Marshall O'Niel uncovers a drug-smuggling conspiracy at the remote mining colony on the Jupiter moon of Io

After reading that I notized some kind of liquid oozing out of my nose and ears... should I be concerned?
jk, fun stuff, now get the Terminator in there too (and Law&Order)!

And all the BSGs. So I know what order to watch. Someone said the reboot can function as a prequel. I want to know how before I start haha. :)

NuBSG looks like a couple hundred thousand years back when they arrive and there are cavemen meandering about, plus talk of Boomer's and Helo's hybrid daughter possibly being "mitochondrial Eve". Difficult to tell at what point TOS Galactica happens, unless you take into account G1980 (which I don't, really... :p )

Well, I have all 4 series downloaded, and I only know the basic pop culture friendly stuff from the shows, so in my ignorance, I suppose I would count G1980? Does the actual Earth ever come into play? I guess don't tell me much, since I do fully intend to watch some day. Of course, I have been talking about finishing Stargate for years, as well. Real life takes too much time away from TV. Well, that, and modern genre shows. Haha.

I think BSG-TOS is the sequel to nuBSG.

Well, it's not much of a spoiler that BSG arrives at earth in G1980 during they year...you guessed it...1980. Pretty much the base-premise of the show. You have Adama with a beard bending the knee to some prepubescent wunderkind named Dr. Zee whose background is a bit of a mystery. All the original crew are gone except Adama and Boomer (the latter promoted to Colonel). The pilot has some promise with a dubious time travel story, but quickly goes downhill from there. There are a few redeeming features of the show:
  • We learn Boxey's real name (as an adult) - Troy
  • They have two-seater Vipers (a logical progression of the design, IMO) - How DID Adama get down to Caprica with Apollo in his old one-seater Viper? Did he sit on Apollo's lap? Did Apollo fold him up in some storage compartment underneath? Never could figure that one out after all these years.
  • The cylons have invented human-looking cyborgs, ostensibly to be used to infiltrate the Colonials - over 20 years before Ron Moore came up with them for his version of the show
  • The cylons have also come up with a new super-massive "A/B Raider" design which is really quite cool to look at
  • Flying motorcycles!
  • The final episode "Return of Starbuck" - universally accepted by most fans as the only good episode of the series (and the most like TOS), showing the fate of Starbuck and the origin of Dr. Zee.
Aside from these things...feh...

The show basically fell victim to an earlier time slot than TOS did, which was required to have some kind of educational kiddie message every episode. That, plus a totally slashed budget doomed it to failure before the first frames were developed in post. An admirable effort, but suffered under too much regulatory actions by the network.

Well, because of the dropped time travel gimmick, we got Quantum Leap out of the deal....

I love easter eggs, shared universes, and constantly inject one shows canon into another just for fun.... once i had a whole web that connected Heroes, Fringe and X Files pretty intricately. :D Just trying to wrap my head around the timeline of the BSGs. I know one was a clean reboot, but I much more enjoy putting the puzzle pieces together. (the 2011 thundercats reboot gave me tons of mental gymnastics lol).

Interesting, that was the first I've ever actually seen years for Firefly and the Alien(s) stuff.
There were 37 years between Alien and Aliens? For some reason I was thinking I heard 70 somewhere.
