Star Trek Merchandise and Memorabilia Thread

2016-12-07%2015.37.19%20%281%29.jpg

Pretty much every year since I was a kid, my folks have gotten me a Star Trek Hallmark ship ornament. I only like the ships. My mom kept that up for the past decade or-so, but this year it's just me.

I had planned on picking up the Gold 50th Enterprise, but it sold out in like September--every Hallmark in Calgary, who I pestered by phone and in-person weekly, sometimes daily; I had friends, relatives check in Vancouver, Edmonton, etc., all over Canada--and I had basically given up hope of finding it. And of course there's nowhere online in Canada to order Hallmark ornaments (and yes, I know Amazon and eBay have them, but $50-60 incl. shipping was just out of the question) and with the Canadian dollar valued so low against the USD, cross-border was not really an option, so I moved on.

Anyway, I stopped in the Hallmark closest to me because I was in that particular mall filling a prescription, and the owner, whose name I don't even know, said, "I wondered when you'd be back," and he'd put away an Enterprise ornament for me after getting another shipment. This guy is basically my hero. I'm sending him a Christmas card.

I think I'll wrap it up for myself to keep the tradition going.

And incidentally, this one is still my favourite:

Edit: Woah, that sounded like my mom died or something. She didn't die, she's just gone until April and not doing Christmas this year.:rommie: :borg:

"This is the voice of world control. I am green with envy. End of message."

Crikey. I bow to the master. I prostrate as low as I can go.

Now where are those pills? I have a gas oven as well...

Any extra Station K-7's?

Ron

Love the model kits.

What are some of the reaction have you foks gotten from kids who never saw trek ships?

Well, I've posted these in other threads but here they are again:)

Pretty much everything is from this year (including the poster and signatures), except the micromachine E. No intention to start a collection, just kinda happened. My avatar is a better photo of the poster, but the below has more signatures. The drone would have blown my mind as a kid - and still kinda did as an adult, with the TWOK soundtrack playing as I flew it underneath the stars.

Thought I would share my latest purchase on eBay. Really thrilled to have this one (for obvious reasons). Love that Balok is holding a glass of tranya. This line of Playmates toys aren't as nice as the Collector's Series dolls, but I'm taken with them.

But goddammit, I'm a decoy, not a puppet!

I can't take any pictures at the moment but I have quite a few. I have the JJ Enterprise, Enterprise C, Reliant, Klingon Bird Of Prey, Kirk and Spock on the bridge from WoK, maybe another I can't remember. Plenty of Star Wars also. Land Speeder, the X-Wing from '98 (Luke's) and the one from this year from TFA, Yoda, R2 and Vader. I also have a couple of light up Yoda and R2 decorations that are about 3 feet tall or so.

The Mega Bloks TOS Enterprise is incredible. At 3100 pieces, it was a bit of a pain in the ass to put together (especially the saucer section), but I'm amazed not only by its size, but at how sturdy it is.
Now if they can only make another Enterprise-D but in this scale... :techman:
