New Voyager DVD set in March 2017

I hope there will be some new features...and they will apear on Youtube. I remember when the first ones came out. I saved and saved to buy them. They were like $100 a season. Now they're all on netflix

I guess that it is a stupid question but why to release a new DVD boxset while the last one was pretty good (bonus & image), especially if there is no intention to add some new stuff?! I'd add that Netflix is offering the whole franchise for almost nothing!

Fair enough, but I think these re-releases are more for those of us that couldn't afford to drop $100 per season for the original releases and didn't want to take a chance on buying 'used' discs on Amazon. I bought the TNG DVD set that was released over the summer and I couldn't be happier with them. The VOY re-release probably wont offer anything new for those of you that got the original releases, bet if these VOY and DS9 re-releases will be in the same price range as that TNG set I bought, then take my money CBS!

Yes, I know, the show is availabe on Netflix, Hulu, etc... But some things you've just gotta' own! :)

I agree. The current box sets are scarce and their jacked up prices ($400?!?!) reflect that. I'm looking forward to the rereleases.

I too see the value in owning them. Especially TOS, since they have both the original effects and the remaster, whereas the streaming services only offer the remaster. The special features are pretty good too.

Edit: Plus stuff gets taken off Netflix and Hulu all the time. No guarantee the Trek shows will be there indefinitely.

I bought a new Voyager Dvd set about 6 months ago.
Re-released for the 50th anniversary.

All the Trek series got this treatment. I wonder if this was a UK only thing.

Just new stock of an existing product. For people that missed it for whatever reason the last time it was released.

Amazon.fr proposes the complete collection (version in 2008) for 65,99 € (import from UK) and 104,99 € for France (which allows to watch the 172 episodes in 6 languages though bonus are only in English with subtitles! -> the french dubbing is pretty good, besides!).
But in surfing on several commercial websites, I managed to find a good deal, in purchasing mine 65 € - $69.06 instead of 104,99€... in Belgium! You can see that there is not only tax evasion which is interesting with this country! :D

By the way, I don't understand why Voyager's complete series is so expensive
while the series was one of the least appreciated of the franchise, with Enterprise,!

I just hope that this new offer will allow people who missed older versions (2004 and 2008), to find a less expensive ST: Voyager's collection. That's the most important! :)

tvshowsondvd.com has the new cover art for these discs. And hopefully there will be proper artwork on the disc, instead of having everything go around the circle.

And as it appears with TNG, DS9 and Enterprise, CBS is probably using the same glass masters that Paramount made 12 years ago, so on the actual discs expect to see the Paramount DVD logo as soon as the disc boots up.

But one thing with these discs is that they will offer the episodes in their superior interlace versions rather than the washed-out de-interlaced low quality videos on Netflix and iTunes.

Well I think you give the response in the question: Price is high because the series was the least appreciated. When the demand is low, there is less product made, therefore it is rare.

I actually find the PQ on Netflix superior to my DVD's of Voyager.
