Spoilers The Ending of Carpenter's The Thing

The acid blood probably would be a stumbling block--but who can say?
The Alien's own body is (of course) immune to the acid. The Thing assimilates and duplicates lifeforms. Corrosive blood doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to overcome.

The game was okay, but some of the aspects didn't work, like blood-testing someone who's shown to be clear but 30-seconds later you reach a scripted point where they thing-out.

A modern remake however for the current gen would rock.

^ Because the alien's body can't imitate anything non-organic. And it can't pierce its own ear and put the earring in, since there's no time to do that.
I pierced my own ear when I was in my 20s and I poked the earing through my ear in maybe 2 seconds. Plenty of time to do it.
