Uh, just because it isn't rendered in LOLspeak doesn't mean the meme isn't there. And to be fair, the meme, although common on Cheezburger, apparently came from Something Awful.

Outstanding, hands down. Loved how each crew (except GKN) gets their limelight. It's personal and a political epic. We get cool space battles. The bad guys aren't evil - just misguided.

My favourite crossover series since Destiny.

Agreed!! I can see myself rereading this once a year. I would have preferred a bit more character development, but when it comes to quadrant spanning events, spread over several crews, political upheavel, drama, action, suspense, even a bit of gorey stuff..... This whole trilogy just delivered!!!!

You are joking here, right? I can guarentee you the phrase "you are doing it wrong" has been around since long, long before memes or even the internet existed. Hell, it's probably been around since people started speaking English and doing things wrong.

Except it should be "You are doing it incorrectly." So saying "you're doing it wrong" is, well.... :D

And applying it to
two discommendated Klingons trying to beat the shit out of each other and failing, that's right up there with any LOLCat.

Agreed, it's a stretch.

Why don't you go over to the thread where the author is talking about it and ask him because it really does feel like you're seeing a giant where in fact there are only windmills.

Sooooo... We ran out of things to talk about, didn't we...

We could talk about the book more. :D

I do really appreciate how JJ Miller made use of several Starfleet crews, without one of them feeling like filler. As in, 'Hey, we've got Dax around somewhere, we should throw her in too.' And although I suppose any other honorable Klingon captain would do, seeing Klag again was not just great, a trilogy so centered on Klingons needed his appereance.

John was on Literary Treks to talk about the wrap up and the series with us! Had a blast.

I personally think this is one of the very best series Trek has ever done. Reminds me of Destiny in so many ways. I hope to see more things like this in the future. Also, who wants more Aventine? I do!

I just finished it. I cared enough to want to see it through but I was never excited about getting back to it. I think the series lost its' way a bit with book two. If I never see the Circle magicians again then it will be too soon, and I am officially bored with the Typhon Pact. Book 3 was a lot better than book 2 though, and has given me a new appreciation for Klingons. Book 1 was the best of the trilogy for me but I think the story could have been told in two books.

I also would have liked some more consequences for a trilogy other than Kahless moving planets and the Romulans being angry with the Breen. I know this is licensed material but all the toys seem to be where they were at the start of the trilogy. I was hoping for more consequences.

I loved Riker's last line though.

Can I just say I love Trek FM and want a job on it. Ahem. Aside from that, wasn't there meant to be an Aventine ongoing this year?

Started it today. Might have put it aside, except for the last section.
Did Brex get voted back to Domo or is this trilogy not I'm current time?
