Humans do not run Starfleet or the Federation alone, did Bashir forgot that?
The Bashir character makes DS9 painful to watch, and when re-watching I usually skip over scenes where he is prominently featured. I will skip whole episodes where the character is the focus. In another thread I'm trashing the Kes character left and right, and I've been accused of "hating" the character. Well, I don't hate the character of Kes. I don't fast forward her scenes or skip episodes in which she's featured. I do think the character didn't pan out and they were right to add a better cast member, but I don't hate Kes.
In contrast, I DO hate that doctor, and his smug and condescending manner, The actor is both very hard to look at and very hard to listen to, with that ridiculous accent. I hate how the producers continuously ret-conned the character to make him more interesting when he in fact was entirely superfluous. The scenes of him in bed with Ezri turn my stomach if I forget to fast forward in time. Everything out of this useless character's mouth is self-righteous babble, and I wish they had killed him off.
So, what the hell do i care about his speech? Anyone including him will fight tooth and nail to survive. Otherwise WE DIE. Well maybe he would lay down and die instead of protecting himself and the people around him, and I say GOOD.
"KahMANdah, you better not do this, and KahMANdah, you better not do that, or I shall inform STAHfleet medical on you, KahMANdah."
"MIY-les, I'm better than you in every way. You can't beat me at darts. KAY-ko is coming home MIY-les, so you better pick up the toys."
I wish I was there, and armed with a phaser.
