Rogue One (2016) [SW Anthology Series)

IIRC, it has been reported that Tarkin has a small role in the movie which will be accomplished by digitally inserting footage of Peter Cushing.

Why not the actor who had portrayed Tarkin in "Revenge of the Sith"?

Probably because he didn't look very much like Peter Cushing, but Wayne Pygram cosplaying as Tarkin and also quite possibly wearing his skin like a creepy 'Silence of the Lambs' style person-suit.
On balance I'd say Peter Cushing looks a lot more like Peter Cushing than almost anybody and I don't think Charles Dance (who looks way more like Peter Cushing than Peter Cushing) is going to show up for a mere cameo. ;)

Some slightly spoiler-ish casting rumors informs us which OT characters may be appearing.

From the article...

Apparently, Avengers: Age of Ultron actress Ingvild Deila is going to star as a young Princess Leia, and while she's not exactly Carrie Fisher's doppelganger, it's easy to imagine her playing the character.

Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous are credited with being inside Darth Vader's iconic costume (there go those rumours about Hayden Christensen returning), while British actor Guy Henry (Harry Potter) will play Governor Tarkin. Game of Thrones alum Ian McElhinney will be Rebel General Dodonna, and you have to give Lucasfilm credit for managing to find actors who resemble the original actors.

Well we will know in just a little over a week from now. After seeing how good a job WestWorld did at taking 35 years off of Anthony Hopkins anything is possible.

So, we'll have a new Han Solo and Lando, and potentially a new Leia. So basically they'd just need a new Luke Skywalker and they could potentially do some storied between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

I'm doing something really unusual for this film. I have NEVER seen any of the trailers. I want to go in cold. I'm a massive Star Wars fan. In the leadup to TFA, I watched every trailer repeatedly because of the glorious imagery. Of course, I enjoyed the film but a lot of the shots on the big screen did not surprise me as much. A part of me regrets that. So, come next Thursday, we'll see if this little experiment pays off. Cannot wait!

Epcot turns into the death star

This was pointed out on Reddit, the hammerheads are a bit different from Rebels. The ones here have 4 engines instead of 3, and the side docking ports stick out further

Could be a style difference based on the artwork. Rebels series Star Destroyers look different as well, but we know they are the same ships as what we will be seeing in Rogue One.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

But some art style changes have been explained in universe as variants like the TIE-Fighters and A-Wing

I am hoping Rogue One and the like will spawn another space flight simulator game like the old X-wing series for the computer rather than the more limited confines of the Rogue Squadron series on gaming platforms.
There is a VR X-Wing flight simulator mission in Battlefront, so if that is successful I wouldn't be surprised if it was expanded into it's own game.

It would be a great Nintendo Switch game. Imagine a full blown Star Wars flight sim you could either play on your big screen or take with you for some multiplayer action on the go. Just a question of whether a standard analogue controller would allow for a sophisticated style of flight sim rather than an arcade style of game.
