Doctor Who references in other shows

Red Dwarf had a shot of the TARDIS in the background of the launch bay.

0505-Demons & Angels. I did this slo-mo version for someone who didn't believe the TARDIS was there in the normal speed version I posted.

Cheltenham 123 (a show about the Roman conquest of Britain) had the TARDIS arrive and a guy in Tom Baker's costume get out to take a piss against a tree.
Chelmsford 123. That scene is set just round the corner from my house, on the basis that there aren't many hills around Chelmsford, so it has to be here (I very much doubt the producers considered that. They were probably trying to work out why a place as small as Chelmsford got the important name of Caesaromagus. 2,000 years on it's very puzzling, as it was a tiny town, yet... Caesar!).
Oh, here it is. No sign of the hill I remembered...

There's also an appearance of the tenth Doctor in a recent Family Guy in which an unnamed companion returns to the TARDIS but the Doctor won't let her in because he's just farted in it. He tries to disperse the smell by wafting the TARDIS door.

Also, going back to The Big Bang Theory, I thought that they tried to put a Doctor Who reference in every episode, even if it's just a small one like, for instance, a TARDIS model on a shelf, or a Doctor Who lunchbox in the kitchen area, or a Doctor Who poster in Stuart's shop.

Simpsons had the Fourth Doctor in one ep.
I can think of at least three times off the top of my head: the one where Sideshow Bob want Springfield to get rid of television, the one Mark Hamill guest starred in, and the Halloween special Lucy Lawless was in.

Other Doctor Who references in The Simpsons include Comic Book Guy buying 100 tacos for $100 commenting "this should provide enough sustenance for the Doctor Who marathon." Also, for the 2009 Halloween special one of the writers or producers used "He Will Knock Four Times" as part of his Halloween themed name in the credits, a confirmed reference to the allusions to the Doctor's fate that were in the 2009 specials.

The Fourth Doctor also cameos in The Simpsons episode with Mulder and Scully, alongside ALF and other aliens/cryptozoologians.

Oh, there was a CSI ep where the victim had supposedly invented a time machine and the noise used was the TARDIS effect. I think the ep was even called "Doctor Who?"

The "Doctor Who" episode involved Dr. Jekkyl, and was the resolution of a season-long arc that hinted that Dr. Langstrom (Lawrence Fishburne) or his father might've been Jekkyll, but Jekyll's true identity was that of a messed-up restaurant guy.

I don't recall any time travel one right away...

I love this stuff.. Just shows you how times have changed, at least here in the States, with regard to Doctor Who.. Back in the 80s, if you liked Doctor Who, you were basically lumped in with all the nerds and geeks and soundly ridiculed by the rest of the kids at school. Now, even the "cool" kids like Doctor Who and references are everywhere, especially around Halloween. Gives me a certain sense of vindication about loving this show for as long as I have... Back in the day, the only geek out reference I could point to was the inclusion of the TARDIS on the cover of Iron Maiden's "Somewhere in Time" album..

The Leverage ones are really good, as is the Librarians one.

ISTR there are a couple in Psych. I'm amazed there aren't more in Legends Of Tomorrow, all things considered...

Maybe they wanted to play it subtle, unlike Castle with all the Firefly references (which I love)...

My wife watches a soap called, General Hospital. They recently reintroduced a character named "Tom Baker". One of the characters, upon hearing the name, made a reference to Doctor Who.

In the show Selfie, there was at least one male character wearing a bow tie in every episode, and there was a toy Dalek in a child's bedroom.

Since it wasn't successful (not even getting a full season order), I think it's important to mention that Selfie starred Karen Gillian, otherwise the bow tie bit seems like a reach.

Not just an appearance, but David Tennant did the voice for the Doctor! As for the companion, I just assumed it was Rose, to the point where I was sure they even mentioned her by name, but I re-watched the clip and you're right, she is unnamed.

It always amazes me how Family Guy gets big name actors for voice work. They had the entire TNG cast for that one episode, albeit not all in the same studio at the same time (I would assume).

It's actually not that surprising when you consider the majority of celebrity voices they get are just for the cutaway gags, which makes it very easy for arrange.
"Family Guy wants you for a came in an episode."
"Sure. When do they need me."
"Right now, if convenient, just call this number and say these lines, whole thing shouldn't take much longer than ten minutes."

This one from Wednesday's General Hospital of all places caught me by surprise

That scene made me actually like Liesel Obrecht. She can be such an evil woman at times, but she's a Fourth Doctor fan! :D She has redeemed herself!

(I wonder if the writers twigged at first about the character's name and planned this or if someone said, "Y'know, he's famous for playing the lead in this British science fiction show, and some fans are gonna notice this, we better throw in a shout-out to Doctor Who...")

There are several mentions of Doctor Who in the Are You Being Served? series.

I seem to remember seeing a TARDIS on the shelf in Kaylee's quarters in Firefly.

And in a painting of Raistlin's laboratory in one of the old Dragonlance calendars (AD&D setting), there's a TARDIS sitting on one of the shelves!

I seem to remember seeing a TARDIS on the shelf in Kaylee's quarters in Firefly.

Kaylee's quarters had a Han Solo frozen in carbonite on the shelf.

Now, IIRC, Jemma Simmons on Agents of SHIELD had a TARDIS in her quarters. And even if she didn't, there is always this...
