So What Are you Reading?: Generations

Just started on Congo Blue by Mike Lunnon-Wood. (I believe the original paperback version was called Heraklion Blue but for the ebook and re-release of p/back, the title has changed)

Finished Stephen King's "Revival" - pretty good, though not to the heights of, say, 11/22/63. Overall it was more a reflection on getting older, mixed with that old Americana, a bit of scientific mystery, and riffs on carnies and religious shows - so far so good - but the end felt disappointing somehow. The climax was well done, but a little too formulaic and didn't really quite fit the rest of the book. It's as if King had a nicely-done vignette with no story to it, which he then decided to weld on to a novel that needed a bit more punch as if to show he could still do that. Overall good, though.

Just read From History's Shadow, which twisted and turned all over the place, but was still interesting. Now most of the way through Elusive Salvation. @Dayton Ward any third installment planned?

The upcoming TNG novel Hearts and Minds is connected to those two novels:
As savvy readers may have already surmised, Hearts and Minds does indeed link to my earlier novels From History’s Shadow and Elusive Salvation. How thick are the tendrils connecting this story to those earlier tales? You’ll just have to wait and see.

Quote from Dayton's blog

Hearts and minds will feature the TNG crew. Dayton Ward has talked a lot about writing this book in his blog the last few months. From what he's mentioned it sounds like a really excellent continuation of the first 2 novels in the series.

Just finished DS9 The Missing. Liked it a lot. I should read Disavowed because I like Bashir and David Mack....but am hesitant because I hate the Mirror Universe. I mean...really hate it.

I'm assuming you haven't read the recent MU series then? Those books really did a lot to add depth and rise it above the somewhat goofy gimmick it was on the shows. I'll admit I've always gotten a kick out of the MU, so I'm predisposed to like them, but I think someone who didn't like it on the shows could enjoy the books. The Sorrows of Empire is amazing, not just as a Mirror Universe or Star Trek book, but just as a book in general.
I finished up Star Wars: Lost Stars yesterday, and started IDW Comics' DS9 miniseries, Fool's Gold.

I started ST The Fall: A Ceremony of Losses yesterday at work. I've been really anxious to read this one ever since I found out it ties up
the Andorian fertility crises. That's been one of my favorite story arcs, and I can't wait to see how it's resolved.
