I've pre-ordered this on Amazon UK. Could someone confirm if this is a Region 2 version, Region Free, or Region 1 import?

with both DTS 7.1 Master Audio as well as newly restored original Mono.

This is the best, most promising part of this whole release. If it means the actual mono tracks will be restored, rather than the mess that's on most of the episodes on blu now.

Just 20 days.......

They gave a little tease with a scene extension from Paradise Syndrome about a week ago. I hope they release a few more between now and Dec 13.

Restored to 1966 MONO or the 1999 MONO version with different sound FX added?
see
New sound effects creeped their way into about half a dozen mono tracks on season 1.
from this thread TOS is spectacular on Blu-ray

Oh wow. Did they remaster a shot of some recovered Big E blue screen footage? oh man, it's too bad all of the old blue screen couldn't have been recovered for the TOS Remaster. That shot with the stars wiping in at the end looks sweet.

I heard somewhere that the long cut scene from Elaan was not found, but I hope that report was in error.

That may be one of the single longest cuts in all of TOS. Another long one is an entirely cut Lincoln scene from "Curtain".
Another one I'd love to see is from "Dagger.." where Adams tells Kirk of his motivations for his mind control experiments.
But sadly, the "Snippets" Documentary which appears to have the deleted material that are NOT from the 12 featured episodes -- is only a measly 22 mintues long.
So the 67 other episodes have 22 minutes of deleted footage combined. Of course the 3 part Vault documentary spread across the 3 discs may have some addtional deleted material. I'm counting on it.
But honestly, after 50 years ANY deleted footage is most welcome.
And I count 9 of the featured episodes among my very favorites.
So footage from those is exciting.
Will we see Barbara Baldavin as "Baker" in Space Seed, telling McGivers that some non superman has a crush on her?
I hope so!

For me seeing the show on DVD was like watching a new show! The BBC had cut the shows to ribbons for years so we were often left with abrupt cuts and scenes that didn't make much sense! I never saw Kirk meet Cogley in Court Martial until I first saw the shiny discs!

I would love to see the original cut of the Vina dance sequence from "The Cage" unfortunately my dream will probably never come true.

$51 on Amazon? Yeah, not gonna happen. Nice of CBS to jack the price up by including episodes most of us already own, instead of releasing a more reasonably priced single-disc.

There's a nice scene from "Conscience.." where Karidian is wondering the corridors at night like the ghost from a Shakespeare play. And in the same episode Rand's last speaking scene ever, was cut -- where she interrupts Kirk and Lenore in the observation deck. That's where the conversation changes to "tell me about the women in your world". Also at the end Lenore is seen in sick bay.
Boy would I love to see those brief cuts.

The scene in "Court-Martial" where Jamie comforts Finney, The "Squire.." has some nice McCoy stuff as they figure out Trelayne's connection to the mirror. "Archons.." has a scene with "possessed Sulu" on the ship that was cut. "Taste of Armageddon" has a rather long portion of a scene between Anon and Sar in Anon's quarters. "Friday's..." has a lot of cuts and what would be super nice is seeing the numerous T'Pau cuts from Amok Time. She had a lot of lines cut before the combat. And skipping to season 3 there was a lot of cut dialogue between Kirk and Rayna. All in all, a lot more was cut than we will ever see, but if we actually got 22 minutes-- that would be special.

I am just afraid it will be 30 seconds of set-up and 20 seconds of footage, then 30 seconds of set-up and 20 seconds of footage, etc, etc.

And will we get a review before the release from any site? Even if the review confirmed my most paranoid fears -- I'd still probably buy it, but if the review(s) stated there was a lot of gold -- man would that be exciting!

It has an MSRP of $77. Right around $45-50 is in my willing-to-pay price range for the set.

I mean, if you are a fanatic enough fan $45 isn't terrible. Hopefully it turns out to be what we're hoping for. But $45 for 12 of the better episodes with new features and actual "never before seen" footage -- it's a slam dunk for me.

And truth be told -- this will be the last time I ever purchase TOS. They look and sound better than I could have ever dreamed all those years ago. What is the shame is not having commentaries for EVERY episode when most of the cast/guests were alive. Sometime in the early 2000s they should have gotten Nimoy, Nichols, Koenig, Takei, Shatner and any guests who had a good positive memory of the episodes they were in and record them. Twilight Zone did this for the DVDs and the Blu-rays and they have a huge amount of commentaries from actors, writers and producers that have since passed.
That was a missed opportunity.

Also at the end Lenore is seen in sickbay.

[T]here was a lot of cut dialogue between Kirk and Rayna.

I read elsewhere that it *may* actually have been a female crewman watching the play on a sickbay bed monitor (pre-insert?), like the bridge cut scene. Though I could be wrong.

As for RFM...it's a favourite of mine...do we know what the extra lines between Kirk and Rayna were about?

They actually did that for the Sci-Fi Channels showing of TOS back in the 1990's; some of which can been seen here:

I have always though it was criminal not to preserve and release those interviews. I agree about the set being a slam-dunk; it is for me as well.
