Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

There weren't too many vehicles in the Aliens-verse - one or two per movie, tops. I can see why they would go the character route with that.

I am most excited about the BSG set, though. Considering the obscure ships they're doing with the Trek series, I fully expect we'll see a ton of the little-known RTF ships. Although, we do already have one, technically, in the form of the TOS Connie. :D

I didn't know about Eaglemoss doing a Battlestar Galactica collection! That's great news! Here's my wish list:
1. That it's a starship collection and not a figurine collection.
2. That it includes BSG: TOS and not only the reimagined series.
3. Colonial Vipers. Lots of Vipers!

Yes, they announced BSG at the same time as the Aliens set back in September. TrekCollective had a brief mention of it down in the section where they talk about the graphic novel series. No details, unfortunately. But if they're going to treat that series with the same attention to detail as the Trek series, we're definitely in for a good time on that one.

Unfortunately I don't have a Facebook account so I can't check Ben's site for more detailed info, which is where many of the advanced announcements come from these days.

Twitter (which I don't have) has replaced Facebook these days. As you can see from Markonian's post above, Ben Robinson uses it a lot.

One of the BSG Vipers I'm really looking for: the Sixth-Millennium Starfighter! ;) :techman:

The BSG collection is at least a year away according to Ben. They'll also be doing at least one ship from the alien movies, the Nostromo i believe.

I could suggest to them:

Nostromo (Alien)
Derelict (Alien)
Narcissus (Alien)
Refinery (Alien)
Sulaco (Aliens)
Dropship (Aliens)
Auriga (Alien: Resurrection)
The Betty (Alien: Resurrection)
Prometheus (Prometheus)
Juggernaut (Prometheus)
Covenant (Alien: Covenant AKA Prometheus 2)

And just from the Alien/Prometheus film series. I'm sure there are also some in the Predator/AvP movies.

The new shuttles look cool... but if they're the same price and size as the first shuttle pack there's no way (like that one) I'll be getting them.

I wish they'd have just done them as regular issues at normal size. At first it seemed to be like they used the excuse "well they're shuttles, we're only doing ships in the collection hence why these are smaller." But then came an absolute slew of recent issues like Neelix's shuttle, the Romulan Shuttle, Ent-E Captain's Yacht, Aeroshuttle, Bajoran Raider, Harry Mudd's little ship, and the Aeon. That's quite a few, so that excuse is just nonsense.

I mean I get the obvious and correct answer is purely to make more $£$£ out of us all. Just charging twice the price of a regular issue and it being half the size is a joke.
They should have just been regular issues, all those shuttles would have sold way more than any crappy issue with say the Malon Freighter, Bajoran Raider, Federation Holoship, Bajoran Assault Vessel, or some Gorn "what the hell even is this" ship no one apart from completionists really cared about.

#rantover :p

I was hoping Eaglemoss would discount the shuttle pack by 25% on Black Friday, so then I could apply the additional monthly 10% discount code and get them for £52.50 (so basically £10 per shuttle, and a further £3 per Okudagram). Their sale this Black Friday is quite poor - 15% on issues #1 and #2, and then a meager 10% on the rest of the standard issues; they've discounted the ships by much more than that at previous times throughout the year, and they did a 25% discount last year during Black Friday. I'm quite honestly disappointed in Eaglemoss - they can do better. They'll probably discount the collection more on Boxing Day and on New Years' Day, and if they have another January Blues sale.

All that being said, NWGarratt over at the AV Forums mentioned about the 'shop15' discount code which is still working (it was last night when I tested it), so that gets you almost all of the way to 25% off (it is just shy of it by 15 pence...15 pence! The nerve!).

Even at £52.50, divided by 4 is still over £13 each, and with their tiny size I I don't think over 10 or 11 is fair. What I find even more silly about them is how they've put them in the regular packaging the normal issues, just highlighting how small they are! When 75% of the box is empty space I feel that's a bit of a rip off

Still, obviously people are paying it as they sold didn't they. I'm not a cheapskate but I just can't justify that price for what you get in return; there is a line.

(and it has to be drawn here! )

I received the Yorktown today with no prior email stating it was shipped. However I did receive a shipment notification for issues #81-#84 but no tracking number. Did they switch over to a new shipping company since it seems they skipped last month's shipment?

Just got my Yorktown today. Looks like it was shipped USPS the entire way instead of UPS Surepost which just hands it off to USPS for final delivery. Probably explains the lack of tracking numbers.

I don't see what it has to be either one or the others- if they offered vehicles as well they could sell to those who have zero interest in figures such as myself...
It would cause issue with the subscription model perhaps, but they sell enough outside the subscriptions that stock is always hard to find.
