We've taken down our report on the Michelle Yeoh / "Discovery" rumor - after further consideration, it's just too thin for us at present.

Should things change and more concrete information become available about Yeoh's potential involvement, we'll revisit at that time.

She should totally be the captain. She's the right age (54) and if this show had a female captain and a female first officer (who's supposedly going to be the main character, which I'm still iffy on personally), then I'd give it a lot of credit. And she, fits the experienced Captain's position far better I think.

This is fantastic news, if true. I love Michelle Yeoh. And I would definitely expect her to be the captain rather than the leading lieutenant commander. I'm expecting that character to be thirtyish.

I posted it on our club site. There's no way in hell I'm missing the opportunity to type the headling "To Boldly Yeoh!"

I've not seen her in much to be perfectly honest, aside form Crouching Tiger (which is not my kind of film at all), but considering she was name dropped a good amount of times in the Future Of... forum, I'm intrigued!

I severely doubt it's for the lead though. Aside from the age being more fitting for a captain (and likely aura of a captain), it seems clumsy for Meyer to suggest the lead actor so passively.
