What's going on over at The Trek Collective?

so I'm not the only one who noticed. I always check that site for news about books and comics!
I hope the guy is ok and just on hiatus because he's busy with real life stuff.

 

Any more news about what might be the problem? It's been a long time since an update.

 

I think at this point I'm just accepting the fact that, for whatever reason, the Trek Collective is no more. If 8of5 pops back up in the future, I'll be excited, but it doesn't seem to be happening at this point.

 

TheTrekCollective was/is one of my favorite Trek sites and a great source of information regarding Trek merchandise.

I really hope the guy is all right.

 

I'll echo everyone else in hoping 8of5 is okay. The site was definitely worthy of multiple visits a week seeing as the posts were almost daily. Best wishes to him.

 

It's been nearly two months..... Getting more than worried now.

 

No one knows his realworld details? Also did it have a Facebook page, if he or she has passed, their family might be sorting through this?

 

As I said earlier, there is activity on what I'm reasonably sure is @8of5`s personal twitter account. Since this seems to be a deliberate choice to take a break (?), I feel like contacting that account would be intrusive, though, especially since I only found it through some searching and googling and I have already tried to contact him via eMail.

 

There is a Facebookpage, where people have asked how things are, but there seem to be no replies.

 

That's concerning--that's a good site.

 

Well, that activity is a good sign at least.

 

So, since the Trek Collective is gone. Is anyone picking up the slack??

Memory Alpha loads a LOT quicker.

 

Yeah, I see what you mean. I just copied the link from my bookmarks list a few minutes ago. I've never noticed that slowness before. Hopefully it's a short term issue.

 

Gone in what way? I just went there and it loads up fine and the site, although not updated since September because of some issue (life does that from time to time) it is still there.

 

Hope it isn't heath oriented. I miss Sasser--don't want to see another loss.

 

Ok, so someone has to know someone that knows 8of5....so what's the deal? How can there be such a lack of information in such a tight knit community? Does ANYONE have ANY info on what's happened? Have they died? Are they no longer wanting to review Trek merch? What's going on?

 

Perhaps 8of5 has personal reasons for his absence and those who do know something are keeping quiet out of respect for his privacy? He is entitled to his privacy and doesn't owe any of us an explanation for why he hasn't updated his website.

 

Yeah, somebody already said up thread that they saw him posting on a personal social media account, so it sounds like he's OK, he just isn't posting on Trek Collective anymore.
