What do you mean? Right wing media makes sweeping generalizations about minorities all the time. The President-Elect called Mexicans rapists.
No, he called some of the people coming here rapists. (Trump isn't bad enough, you have to misquote him to make him WORSE?)

But you seem to be agreeing with the right wing media that sweeping generalities about race are OK.

Two different business types (agriculture vs. hotel/hospitality) have different ways accounting for labor. It is far easier for the former to slide money under the table vs. the latter. You could make it a requirement that farmers pay labor electronically, like most hotel/hospitality chains do. But, freedom. They'd complain about the government interfering in their business.
Then labor would go up the same as if we replaced illegal labor with legal. So what's the difference?

So far your argument against allowing illegal labor is not an economic one.

Yes, you have said to me:

"I'm done. You are a...oh right, this is the misc. But how do you measure influence? You...right...the misc."
"Just go away. You are clearly a.... D*mn, the misc."

I take both of those as insults.
You are truly thin-skinned if you saw that as insults Take care

He called some illegal immigrants rapists.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...but-you-keep-forgetting-about-the-other-part/

Now, it is true that Trump's infamous declaration that Mexican undocumented immigrants are "rapists" and "criminals" was followed by an aside that included the words, "some of them are good people, I assume." But this has indeed been reported, widely. What Pence (and anyone else sold on the idea that Trump's comments have simply been misunderstood or taken out of contest) seems unable to grasp is that the act of declaring an entire group prone to illegal activity is about as close to a textbook example of bigotry and xenophobia as possible.

Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Thanks Breitbart!

Sure. I'm more likely to get hit by a bus today than be a victim of a terrorist attack. Sometimes you have to gauge the likelyhood of something happening. Not run off half-cocked because it could happen.
I do think that it's unlikely that it'll happen. But I would say that ISIS would be stupid to at least not consider it.

You clearly did not mean it in a good way. In fact, it seems that it was meant in a negative way. So I think I have reason to find offense with it.

But I would say that ISIS would be stupid to at least not consider it.

I'm sure they'd love a shot at us. But I can't give up what makes me human because of it. If I give up my values because of it, then they've really already won.

You didn't actually say the words, but the clear implication of your comments is that 'I would be calling you names if I wasn't restricted by the rules.' That's not really much of an improvement. You can refute his posts without resorting to name-calling or implied name-calling against him personally.

1. It's necessary to deter people from entering this country illegally.
2. If they weren't breaking the law in the first place, we wouldn't have this issue in the first place.
3. He still allowed sanctuary cities and weak borders.
The U.S.-Mexico border regarding illegal immigration has been an issue for decades through several administrations, be it Dem or Rep. but not to worry, suddenly it's the current administration's fault.
I never said Barack Obama was the reason for illegal immigrants. I said he hasn't done enough to protect American borders.
That's exactly the argument you're making regarding borders and illegal immigrates, it's Obama's fault, unless "he" is referring to someone else ripe for your tautology laden finger-pointing argumentum ad nauseam roller-coaster ride that's circularly going nowhere.

He's deported more illegal immigrants than any other president in history (focusing on ones who have committed serious crimes rather than families) and more than all the presidents of the 20th century combined, immigration from Mexico is at or below net zero, and we've had no major successful foreign terrorist attacks during his administration (no, domestic lone wolf mass shooters don't count), so by what non-imaginary metric has he not done enough to protect American borders? It sounds like you're getting fed a bunch of false information and need to break out of your bubble and find some better information sources. And you can find my sources for the above facts in my previous post on the subject from several pages back in this thread, or from the numerous other posters who have refuted your claims.

I swear, I think some people saw that movie Monsters a few years ago and thought it was a documentary or something. It's even got Donald Trump's wall in it.

Alright. I'm having a tense day.

@indycar I apologize

Actually, this is how the conversation went down:
Myself: I really doubt that America would have 11 million illegal immigrants if what I've said on this subject was followed.
Robert Maxwell: Given that we still have 11 million despite Obama's massive crackdown, I'm gonna say reality demonstrates otherwise.
Myself: He still allowed sanctuary cities and weak borders.

So I never said Barack Obama was the cause of illegal immigrants, I just said that he didn't shut down sanctuary cities and that the borders are still weak. He's done better job with illegal immigration than George W. Bush and all preceding Presidents have.

1. I agree with you.
2. According to my link below, there are approximately 720,000 illegal immigrants who cross the border each year. However, about half of them of them are caught and sent back.
3. I agree with you.
4. See #2.
5. How do we know your sources are completely accurate?

But here you promote unrealistic ideas like "shut down sanctuary cities," as if the President can just force a city to do something.

They could if they either prevent funding from reaching the country, give them a fine or send in outside forces (like police or immigration agents, not the military or something like that) to uphold the law.
