DC Comics: Rebirth

I think you've sold me on Deathstroke for sure now. I'm a sucker for any books dealing with a character's family and how their hero/villain role impacts those relationships. I like getting to know a character, how they think, how they react, more than I like reading about explosions and monthly alien invasions and Deathstroke sounds like a deeper read than many comics out there.

In that case, I'd also suggest you try out the Superman books (Clark, Lois and their son Jon's life as a family are a big part of that), and maybe the Simon Baz & Jessica Cruz-centric Green Lanterns (which has quite a bit of stuff on how Simon's history (including as GL) affects the Baz family.

I'd definitely recommend Green Arrow. It's been consistently good for a while now and shows no signs of the quality dropping during Rebirth.

Despite being a comic book fan since 1992 Green Arrow was one character I always avoided, until a few years ago Jeff Lemire took over and his run piqued my interest.

My five --

Superman (Superman as a dad -- best Superman has been in probably a decade)
Action Comics (the bigger-picture Superman book, with Lois doing Lois stuff and Luthor doing Luthor stuff)
Batman (I like what Tom King is doing so far)
Detective Comics (this is, basically, Batman as an X-Men book)
Titans (Dick, Donna, Roy, and Wally -- what's not to love?)

I'm not really clear why Starfire is hanging out with Damian's Teen Titans rather than Dick and Roy's Titans, especially since was working with Roy not all that long ago in the Outlaws.

Because Titans is about the original Titans. The New Titans have all been relegated to Teen Titans land (Starfire, Beast Boy and Raven all appear there), save for Cyborg, who they're trying desperately to sell as a solo/Justice League character. No idea how that's working, I don't read any of them.

In fairness, Starfire has served as the older mentor member of the Teen Titans since at least Geoff Johns' run way back before Infinite Crisis. And Beast Boy and Raven keep getting de-aged with each rebranding and relaunch. But at least they got rid of the hideous New52 Raven costume.

I didn't express myself clearly. What I was thinking was that there is not going to be enough market for two Titans titles to before long they will just be rolled into one book.

If Young Justice the cartoon is returning, which it is, then that's most likely what is going to happen to the under preforming book, even though it will take some bizarre #### to align either comic book and Young Justice Season 3 into similar entities.

I loved the "Super Sons" storyline in Superman #10 and #11. The Clark/Bruce moments were delightful (and made me forget that the two men are largely strangers to each other now), and I liked the relationship between Jon and Damian with all of its one-upsmanship and selfishness in the way that ten year olds can be. "I'm still taller than you" (paraphrased from memory) cracked me up, and the aftermath had me guffawing.

Looking forward to the Super Sons book.

CBR| DC Cancels Legend of Wonder Woman's Second Volume

The news was broken Thursday night on Twitter by writer/artist Renae De Liz, who wrote, “I am sad to announce Legend of Wonder Woman pt 2 has been cancelled. I am surprised & devastated I won’t be able to finish the project."

But nearly seven months later, the publisher apparently changed course. Amid sharing art for the now-abandoned volume, De Liz wrote, “I am so sorry to fans of LoWW, as the story is left unfinished, and there were so many fun adventure to be told.” She later added, “Also, no, sales wasn’t the reason. Last I heard the hardcover was looking to do optimistically well.”

If it wasn't sale then I wonder why the canceled it? Most of the reaction to it I've seen has been good.

Otherwise, yeah, it's kinda weird they'd cancel it.

I don't see why they'd have to cancel LOWW for that though. We've had multiple series about the same character, like Batman, who's had three or four series going at once before.

I haven't read volume one, but it's always a bummer when a comic gets shut down for internal corporate political reasons (whether it be due to a new movie or issues between executives and the writer).

It sold well, was praised by critics and fans alike, it was nominated for a fucking Eisner Award, and the Hardcover edition was just released. Especially considering that last part, announcing the cancellation of Vol. 2 now is like shooting yourself in the foot. It all just makes no sense.
