Well, my take is it was not very classy of Coto to tell her to shut the eff up, and she has a right to be upset with him, considering they were once coworkers.
But that said, that CA secessionist movement is pretty looney. Doesn't justify Coto at all, but that is why I don't pay attention to actors' and actresses' political views. It makes me think less of them sometimes.

California is a economic powerhouse, it's economy exceeds most nations.
The current California secession movement predates Trump's victory. I remember reading their platform prior to the election and it wasn't based on who would win the (then) upcoming election.

What does the economy of CA, or whether the movement predates the election or not, have to do with that? The secessionist movement IS pushed by loons, which are a small fraction of the entire population, made up of mostly slactivists on facebook and instagram. It won't ever happen.
