CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Many of us like Karzak and osWriter's posts. Many of are sorry to see them go. Many would wonder what happened to them. I, for one will miss them and don't want them to leave, but I appreciate that they told us. Saying farewell, doesn't take us that far off topic. You could've skipped their posts
Agreed. And look what happens when you comment and don't just skip the post, the thread goes off topic.

Irony, it's a bugger.

Although I have enjoyed greatly the post of those who are dropping out, I honestly don't understand these huge proclamations to let us all know you are leaving; I just don't get it. I understand life priorities and having better things to do but filling the thread with departures and well wishes is quite frankly self-serving and a waste of band-width particularly in an Axanar thread. If you feel compelled to leave; just do it, we don't really need to know (well, at least I don't). If you feel the need to let the world know; please start a thread somewhere else about it. I'm sure it will be very popular!!!

Can we PLEASE stay on topic??????

All the numerous other times this thread has gone off topic, nobody's really minded, because things easily get back on topic. Fellow posters show their human side and connect with others in this thread that's turned into a community gathering of sorts, and that's a problem?

Did I miss a dispersal of a rule guidebook for the thread?

Just wait as this thread lingers on for months if not years further. I can't imagine there would be anything so compelling going on daily to justify someone following along that closely. I mean, we all know Alec puts his foot in his mouth on a daily basis with his online presence, but after you've sampled enough of his schtick it becomes predictable and not that entertaining anymore.

Because it's polite to say good bye rather than just dropping out? Especially as some left earlier on in this case as they had threats against them.

Because it's polite and friendly to say good bye to people that you respect, and to wish them well is such a tiny tiny tiny part of the bandwidth, it's ridiculous. About the same bandwidth you took up to lecture us.

Might I suggest next time you just scroll past?

And besides: there really isn't much news ON the topic, so... Seriously, what does it matter if people are being NICE to each other, shouldn't that be something we want?

For a long time, it was basically tearing down the shed of misinformation Axanar Productions built and kept extending around its behavior. During this time, new information and analysis of this information was fresh and probably contributed to the discussions going on among donors and at the studios. And perhaps also among some of the Axanar folks who followed or contributed.

Now the case is clearly made. The studios presumably have the key records that will let them make their case in as much detail as Alec cares to be subjected to.

Is deconstructing the latest twists and turns of Axanar Productions as important now? Once in a while, probably. It might still call out something like a key motivation that could spur a class action, or help trace where the money went. It might still surface something it could take donors a while to realize.

I agree that broader events are more important.

To stay on topic as close as can be at the moment:

Contrary to Axanar-The-Movie-Never-Made-But-Burned-Way-Too-Much-Money-From-Once-Faithful-Donors @oswriter and @Karzak will be missed.

Also: The chances of both of them returning at one point in time back here are astronomically higher than Alec Peters winning the case...

So... slightly on topic, I believe.
^^^THIS^^^
To think the actions of Peters and company has only effected those involved in Axanar is simply misinformed.
The Fan Film Community had their reins on creativity drawn in right off the bat while Peters is still slaying wooden dragons in Lala land.

Hey David, wait... Didn't AP say he pays $12.500 rent every month from his own pocket?
But then... Per, wait... Didn't Slow Lane need $15.000 times three to pay for the next quarter of a year?
Again, the finances on display at social media or crowdfunding platforms still don't match. Left hand, meet right hand.

In the midst of the fallout, I've missed the new financials. I'll need to hunt them out.
There are no new financials. Someone made that assumption upthread, but nothing has been publicly released by Axanar since last year's "annual report."

The rent by itself is $12,000/month. The other $3,000/month, as explained to me by Axanar spokesman Mike Bawden last spring, covered utilities and salaries. They don't like to acknowledge salaries anymore, so recently it's all been conflated into "rent."

Have you seen the cost of Sushi these days?

Thanks, Carlos, for the reminder! Please don't leave us, too! We know, how you try to please 4 platforms almost simultaneously. Janet, thank God, has already promised to stay with us! ;)

But back to the money: So Slow Lane says said, to keep up the light, there would have to be raised $15.000 per month. They simply can't be transparent/coherent/competent regarding to the numbers, can they? It's so wishy washy.
Now Peters claims those $12.500 (rent per month) come from his own pockets - trustworthy arguments sound different to me. It could still be faithful donor's money being spent - for playing Warhammer...

Aha! Cheers! I saw it mentioned and couldn't figure out why it wasn't picked apart and analysed yet. Thankfully you corrected that assumption before I googled and shouted at things not appearing in searches :p

Yeah, I am taking forever doing this, sorry (I'm writing this year's novel this month) -

Started posting the blogs analyzing the Ex Parte Application
http://www.semanticshenanigans.com/axanar-plaintiffs-ex-parte-application/

I am about halfway or so through with the second of three anticipated posts but that one is l...o...n...g.

Again, my apologies for the delay.

Back to writing, and thank you for your kind support.
