Good l

Good luck with that. At the end of the day, stopping wire transfers would stop a lot of money from entering the Mexican economy.

If that money is earned legally, why can't the person who earned it send it to say family in another country?

I thought that, as a matter of principle, Republicans didn't like regulating things out of existence because it only will cause an unregulated black market, or taxes in general.

I guess its the "unless it's for something we believe in like no-abortions" loophole.

I'm not saying you should be denied rights. I'm just tearing about your terrible excuses for arguments. Respect isn't automatically agreeing with you over everything. I know you think that your ignorance is equal to facts, but they aren't. You're going to have to try a lot harder.
That's the problem, if someone doesn't agree with you, they are bad, the enemy, so the end justifies the means - they're bad so they should be treated as such.

But thanks for underscoring my point - you treat others with disdain, and that's ok, you're fighting for what you think is right, but just don't think that you are somehow evenhanded in your approach.

Republicans haven't set the best example with that over the past 8 years.
I guess I'm painting with a broad brush then. Other than the "My president is Charlton Heston" types (who said the same thing when G.W. Bush was in office) who said Mr. Obama was not their president?

Unless it's being overblown in the media, and most Democrats will accept Donald Trump as their president. I'm at least asking for that.

And replace it with what without people losing their coverage?
The ACA caused people to lose their coverage. If you liked your plan... Well, too bad.

I never said you were my enemy, just that you're wrong. You may not understand there is a difference, but there is one. You really seem to jump to conclusions with very little evidence. You need to work on that.

You aren't getting rid of me that easily and I'm not afraid of your "ideas" because I know the facts are on my side. It doesn't matter how many people believe in your nonsense because belief does not equal truth. You're going to have to try a lot harder than using the words of simpletons to convince me of anything.
I'm not trying to get rid of you, nor do I think you should be afraid of me - I'd be disappointed if you were. I was honestly saying that if you can't be exposed to idea's that are in conflict with yours you might want to find a "safe room" or somewhere where only folks with like ideas gather. I honestly wish you no ill will.

They can still get coverage under the ACA, but that's coming to an end. My uncle needs coverage to afford his diabetes medication, but I guess you think that's too bad for him.

Well they obviously did not help you with yours... explains a lot. Enjoy your KKK wet dream for the next 4 years

You guys look so ignorant every time you use the KKK reference. Their membership nationwide is between 5000-8000. The population in the U.S is 300 million. They are basically irrelevant.

You guys lost all credibility with the race card after the nation elected a black man to the presidency twice by big margins. You cant then say that it turned around and became racist because of Trump. Even Michael Moore of all people disagrees with you.

http://dailycaller.com/2016/11/11/m...-elected-obama-twice-theyre-not-racist-video/

Just face it, your side had an incredibly flawed candidate whose biggest slogan was, "The other guy is mean." That "other guy" was talking about issues that working class voters care about eg: jobs, china, immigration. That along with lower turnout from the liberal base is why Hillary lost.

You're trying to dismiss my views as less than yours, so stop being condescending. But my views are based on facts and yours are based on what you think is true. I'm not afraid of that, I laugh at that. Facts will always win in the end.

You mentioned something about jumping to conclusions in a previous post - lol

I don't think either of us is going to convince the other, so we'll just have to work around each other.

Best of luck!

I believe more people in the US now have healthcare sincce the PPACA was passed, yes some lost cover but wasn't some of that down to the fact their existing plans didn't meet the required specification under PPACA?

Yeah, we refused to do exactly what the Republicans wanted without a bit of compromise. It's totally the Democrats fault the Republicans kept shutting down the government and refusing to do their jobs.
Either side could have broken a stalemate. If a shutdown was so unthinkable then why did it have to be Republicans?

Hell, the president started shutting down federally run PARKING LOTS to make his point. Everybody WAS doing their jobs.

This is at a state level, not a federal one, but the Wisconsin state legislature ran away to Illinois rather than lose a vote. (That was, what? 2011ish?)

They can still get coverage under the ACA, but that's coming to an end. My uncle needs coverage to afford his diabetes medication, but I guess you think that's too bad for him.
I had friends (self employed, everyone of them) that were forced on to the exchanges where they couldn't get the same coverage and where they couldn't meet their new deductibles. (Insurance is free. Unless you need to use it.)

BTW, as recently as last year Mr. Trump was in favor of single payer health care. Shouldn't it be the Republicans who are complaining?

I gotta say I'm happy today oh yes I'm happy today in Jesus Christ I'm happy today I'm happy today oh yes I'm happy today!

Nanananananananana hahahah We win democrats(and those liberals lose).

The Country is Ours!

I'm exulted and giddy about the election!

Not Republicans.

Seems you forgot why there was a shutdown. Republicans controlled enough of Congress to set their own budget. But they decided to enact a strategic shutdown in 2013 in order to further their fiscal agenda. The shutdown didn't happen because the parties failed to work together, but because Republicans think it's fine to break every rule in the book to get their way.

What's our saying? We don't negotiate with terrorists? When Republicans take the government hostage, how should that be viewed?

Newt Gingrich wants new House Un-American Activities Committee

By Gregory Krieg, CNN
Updated 6:37 PM ET, Tue June 14, 2016

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is calling for the creation of a new House Committee on Un-American Activities, invoking the infamous "Red Scare"-era congressional body as a blueprint for weeding out American ISIS adherents and sympathizers.

"We originally created the House Un-American Activities Committee to go after Nazis," he said during an appearance on "Fox and Friends" this week. "We passed several laws in 1938 and 1939 to go after Nazis and we made it illegal to help the Nazis. We're going to presently have to go take the similar steps here."
Gingrich, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, has been touted as a potential running mate for the presumptive Republican nominee.

His comments on Monday echoed Trump's, as the billionaire businessman suggested "Muslim communities" should be held to greater account for the actions of their neighbors.

"They know what is going on," Trump said during a speech Monday in New Hampshire. "They know that (the Orlando killer) was bad. They knew the people in San Bernardino were bad. But you know what, they didn't turn them in, and we had death and destruction."

The House Un-American Activities Committee was founded on the eve of World War II but gained greater notoriety a decade later as it launched a series of investigations into alleged communist elements inside the U.S. government and other aspects of U.S. society.

Holy shit, this is fucking scary. C'mon, conservative posters, this isn't just a support your team issue. This should scare the living hell out of everyone. This is Gingrich and Trump's own words expressing their intentions, not liberals making up nasty lies. It doesn't matter whether they can implement it in the end, this is what they want to do, which should be disqualifying in itself. People on both sides of the political spectrum need to speak out against this while we still can.

Ever seen the film 'The Seige' - sometimes truth is scarier than fiction. Hope your Supreme Court knocks this down

Seriously?

1. There are many situations -- including the incident that I posted about -- in which a person can be harassed and hurt that are not the kind of life-threatening violence in which self-defense with a gun is even remotely appropriate.

2. "Stand your ground" applies only in certain states. (Shouldn't be anywhere, but that's another subject.)

3. Even in a blatantly life-threatening situation where shooting in self-defense would be legal, it's not always possible. Example: Six years ago, I was awakened early one morning by a stranger with a knife -- one of my own kitchen knives -- pulling my clothes off. Even if I had had a gun, it wouldn't have done me a damn bit of good. And I might have been shot with it.

Please don't tell me that guns are the solution.

As a black woman if any of these folks stepped to me they will eat silver, drastic perhaps yes, but the lynch mob brigade needs to be sent back to history.

The one question that I have for people who support abortion is: what if your parents aborted you?

IME most anti abortionists are pro birth not pro life, once the baby is born they don't give a fig about what happens to said child. I take such concern with a pinch of salt.

So a hypothetical question with the PPACA repealed and abortion made illegal who is going to pay for the long term cost of say children with serious medical conditions that might require longterm if not lifeterm medical care? What if the mothers life is at risk due to a pregnacy and the only viable way to ensure the mothers life to abort the feteus? What about in the case of getting pregnat due to being raped?

Do we have any laws saying what men can and can not do with their bodies? Do we need laws saying what women, or anyone, can do with their bodies?

Seems to me ownership of your body takes precedence over pithy morality BS.

Exactly, the last time the state had rights over a human being's body it was called slavery

The whole point of the Federation is to eventually get everybody on board. One day--Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, everybody will be waving the blue-and-white banner. ;)

Sounds like the Borg and is pretty arrogant. Everyone wants to come to my party mentality,...er no they do not.

The ACA is no different from any other legislation, it hurt some and helped others. It hurts me, in the form of higher premiums, so I don't like it. For others, it's the only possible way they can get insurance. You either vote your conscious or your pocketbook, but either way, you still won't get what you like after it's been tossed around between both Houses for a while.
