IIRC, the blurb for Catalyst, which takes place during the Clone Wars, says she's three years old in the novel.Jyn seems too old to have been born after Order 66,
Just had a quick look and it doesn't specify her age, though it does seem to take place during the Clone Wars (mentions Separatists & Chancellor Palpatine.) So yeah, not surprisingly she was born prior to Order 66 which makes her mum being a Jedi unlikely.IIRC, the blurb for Catalyst, which takes place during the Clone Wars, says she's three years old in the novel.
Considering you've seen at most two new Star Wars movies in the last decade, yes, it is weird. Is it weird that I'm already burning out on Star Wars movies? I think it's the fact that Disney is going to have two movies in production continuously for the next 100 years. I'll probably only watch the numbered series. It's sort of like the Marvel movies. There are so many I only bothered watching Avengers & Iron Man.

I think they are pacing themselves rather well, all things considered.Considering you've seen at most two new Star Wars movies in the last decade, yes, it is weird.
The mention of The Force and the Kyber crystal definitely hint at some interesting possibilities.Oh yeah, that's a clear, unbound kyber crystal. Very interesting.
Could her mother be a failed padawan that left the order after her trials on Iilum? Or at lest descended from someone that did and the crystal in a family heirloom? Jyn seems too old to have been born after Order 66, so her mother probably isn't a Jedi survivor like Kanan. Perhaps she's not a force user at all and wearing a clear crystal is a "Church of the Force" thing?
I'm sure a lot of people are going to jump on this as an indication that Jyn is Rey's mother. Admittedly that's not impossible by any means, but I doubt they'll go there.

I'm also wonder what Vader is doing in that last shot of him at the end, the way his hand is curled it looks like he's using some kind of Force power, choking Krennnic perhaps?
I posted this in the books thread, and since it's RO related I'll go ahead and post it here too.

After that trailer I'm even more curious about Catalyst now, especially with the article specifically mentioning a big role for Jyn's mother.
Space battle footage from Rogue One:

Was that a Mon Calamari star cruiser?
I really want to pause the footage of the rebel fleet and see what's there.
I am guessing what they are attacking is a gap in the shield generator? or maybe just a defense platform. There is a Star Destroyer parked there.
Not really related to Catalyst, but something I just picked up on looking at the pictures in that article. Regarding the "pens" that seem to stick up from pockets near the shoulders of the Imperial uniforms, I noticed Krennic only has one pen on each shoulder, which seems odd considering the high rank he presumably has. Tarkin has two, and on Rebels so does Thrawn.I posted this in the books thread, and since it's RO related I'll go ahead and post it here too.
