My head hurts. I'm emotional. Trump supporters can snigger, giggle, laugh out loud, whatever. We were wrong and we drastically underestimated the effect of his populist message. Okay.

But President Trump has to pivot. He is now the most powerful man on earth. He has to act like a grown up. Start speaking to the American people, and be our PRESIDENT. I hope he will keep this in mind. He is now my president. I hope he doesn't let me down. So, to him, I say:

Mr. Trump, remember what your job is now. You are now the President of the United States. Even if you don't make what we think are the right decisions, become the person who holds the office you ran for. Prove us all wrong. Let the TV host fall away. Be a leader. Be a good man.

    Please, be a good man.

Good movie but jesus there's a lot of hate for your follow man in this thread. Pure hatred... Assuming the absolute worst about everyone who voted for this guy is a good way to be wrong about a lot of people.

Not really. We're right on track for World War III in 2026:

Plausible. That would be in Dictator Trump's third term right?

I agree with you in a sense (i.e. don't assume)....but also, don't forget that people who voted for this guy are white supremacists, racists, people who glorify the Nazi regime and the killing of Jews, straight up deny the holocaust, want to kill Muslims....etc. And he did not shut any of it down. He encouraged it.

You can't just embrace people like that because they are fellow humans.

Not all Trump supporters are racist, misogynist hatemongers. But if you're a racist, misogynist hatemonger, I guarantee you voted for Donald Trump.

As President, I expect him to repudiate racism, misogynism, hate speech, etc. And distance himself from people who spew it.

This is dramatic. He preaches inclusion of different Americans, not exclusion. You're assuming the absolute worst and don't really know what he will do yet.

This thread is littered with a sentiment that is a part of the reason why Trump won this election. We have two sides of a coin that don't listen to each other and don't understand each other. The coin flipped a different way this time.

When did he do this? A lot of Trump supporters (not all) are racist, misogynistic, ignorant, prejudiced hate mongers. They welcomed his message with open arms. Why is that? If I moved in next door to them tomorrow they would shoot me and bury my body if they could. The foundation of the USA was built on blood, so I am not surprised.

I observed a lot of Trump's speeches, and most of them preached inclusion of many different American people with cheering supporters. Racist, misogynistic, ignorant, prejudiced hate mongers don't cheer at someone calling for inclusion.

Comparing him to Hitler is really crying wolf. It's just not accurate.

America decided it would rather elect a hateful bigot and likely rapist than a woman.

    We have made our bed.

the American people has a most unfortunate talent to almost always vote for the worst possible candidate.
Don't worry, we Europeans suffer with you and we'll do our best to mend out any international rifts caused in the next 4 years. It's a pity we can't help you with the internal probs he'll indubitably cause.

I live in a very conservative part of this particular state. I know these people...live with them and work with them. They are not racist misogynist red necks.. The best I can gather from my unscientific survey is the reason they voted for Trump wasn't because they liked him...it was because they really really hated Hilary, Bill and the political machine that goes with them.
At one time people used to say they would vote for a yellow dog before they would vote for a particular person. That's what happened in my circle of friends anyway....people decided they would rather vote for a dog instead of a Clinton.

The load of crap from you poor whiney liberals is staggering. How about packing your bags and joining the Hollywood elites in Canada while the rest of us get back to work and fix the mess Obama has left.

Proud to say I voted for none of the above. But watching the far left freak out after many months of cocky arrogance is a funny thing to see.

What mess did Obama cause? And what mess will Trump fix and how? And how will keeping Mexicans and Muslims out of the country help?

Keeping in mind this board's focus and trying to put a smilie on what I feel is a very distressing turn:

It's almost like after eight years of Mr. Spock as President we pined for Kirk then settled for Zapp Brannigan.
