Yes, I've seen people elsewhere comment that they like the mythic feel of BvS. That's not really something Marvel has done yet, even in Thor.

As far as I know, and there have been zero reports (again, as far as I know) of the directors expressing a desire for another cut. The reasonable conclusion is they are satisfied with it. With BvS, it is clear the longer cut is the preferred one AND, numerous comments, including by those unsympathetic to both cuts, point to the longer cut as a better film. Therefore, seems only fair to compare the cuts each filmmaker wanted, if readily available (as is the case for BvS), particularly if one hasn't seen BvS until AFTER it was available with the longer cut.

I actually quite liked BvS (even saw it twice) and plan to see the EE at some stage. But it's a total cop out to say that the cinematic version doesn't count. That's the one they put in cinemas. That's the one they made people pay to see. That's the one Snyder quite happily put his name to and defended in interviews. It lasts much the same time as CW (longer if anything). If the story couldn't be told in that time, then that's on the filmmakers' heads.
 
I didn't say the theatrical release doesn't count. I liked it fine, just prefer the extended one (which is not always the case--though often true when it is at the behest of the director, rather than the studio). However, in this particular case, with so much vitriol, it seems only fair the director in question be judged by his preferred cut, when available. And Snyder clearly would have released the longer cut if he had the clout of a Spielberg or a Scorsese. Of course he defended his theatrical cut (severe blow to his career if he hadn't, I should think). I think he'd rather be judged on the one he would have released if it had been up to him, though.

In the end, it matters little.

Hal gave up the ring to become Deadpool. He's much happier, I think. He looks like he was chewed up and put through a meat grinder. At least he got the girl in the end.

In the “Justice League” we have seven major lead characters and I’m the butler to one of them. It’s clear I will not be dominating that film.

Given Irons' small role in the movie, probably interacting only with Affleck, I don't think too much weight should be given to his guesstimation of the number of main characters.

Why are folks assuming that by "seven major lead characters" he's referring only to the Justice League members? Wouldn't the villain count as a lead character?

Good point; BvS felt like it was tapping into all that the lead characters have been across generations, and as a result, one could feel the weight of their collective legend. Of the Marvel movies, only Captain America--as a character--captures that feeling, probably thanks to how much he is allowed to be aware of his entire, decades-spanning life, and not just be a tool for the latest explosion-fest with little substance from the comic book roots.

Yes, I assumed Irons would include the Big Boss (and possibly a secondary villain) in his count.
 
Sometimes they make me run. Which I was outraged because I thought, you know, playing The Flash, this will be great, you can't see him running so this will be easy! No, no, Ezra, we need you to run. We have this enormous treadmill that's called, I think, The Tumblelator, that's like 25 feet long, goes 45 miles per hour and its bouncy, like a trampoline. Pretty much a dream come true. Then, they strap me into a harness, we do all sorts of stuff. What we're creating is a vocabulary; where choreography meets visual effects. And what we're trying to implement is a wide diversity of tactics of how we create these moments and... A lot of The Flash is his perception.

Putting the Flash on a treadmill? Watch out he doesn't unexpectedly time travel!

But seriously, I wonder how much of that is for close-up shots and how much is for performance capture/kinesics for a digital model. The TV show relies mainly on a digital Flash for the action scenes.
