WB's Justice League 2017 movie pre-discussion thread

The Flash's costume makes sense--one, it suggests he needs some sort of armor similar to Batman's, hinting at a conflict Wayne knows requires special gear (obviously, Wonder Woman and Cyborg do not need it). If the suspected antagonist turns out to be true, the costume would make practical sense, instead of that vinyl Halloween suit seen used by the TV Flash.

The flash looks indeed terrible, maybe it's an training suit?

Flash's costume is supposed to look terrible. He has made it himself and it is literally held together by wire. Later in the movie he gets a second, improved costume with the help of Bruce Wayne.

Speaking of which, Batman's second "tactical" suit looks amazing IMO!

Batman's BvS suit was straight out of the comics and this one is straight out of the video games.

I thought it was because he moves so fast that regular clothing would be ripped off his body? Also from the trailer it looks dangerous to run with all the lightning around him.

The metal parts are there to protect him at high speeds. Interestingly if he didn't have all the metal parts he'd look alot like CW Flash

Because they join up to form Voltron?
"Form arms and legs."
"Form head and body."
"And I'll form the crotch!"

Speaking of Cyborg, how organic is his head? Is it vulnverable? I seem to remember he was more fleshy on the Superfriends.

I really can't stand that Cyborg design. He looks more like a bad humanoid crystal CG thing then Cyborg, and at least in that picture he looks way too thin. It doesn't help that he's mediocre CG right next to two actors in decent (if too dark and muted color wise) practical costumes.

Why does Aquaman need all that armor? It'd be pretty hard to swim in that. And anyone with enough superstrength to endure the crushing pressures of the ocean depths would be unlikely to be in much danger from above-water threats.

It looks cool?
I've been pretty happy with all of the designs we've seen for JL so far. I especially like the new Batsuit.

That makes sense. They have so many cast members, both JL and side characters, that it makes sense they left some people out.

Yeah, one of the things that I'm simultaneously excited about and apprehensive over is the size of the Infinity War cast. While the MCU has had more time and more movies to advance their story than the DCEU, which might make the end result feel more organic, I can't help but think that they might be putting too many toppings on the pizza. For instance, if the rumors about Liv Tyler returning as Betty Ross pan out, how would they work her character into the story in any significant way? Will they advance her story with Bruce? With her father? While it would be fun to see all of the old faces return for A:IF (which is why I'm excited), I don't want their appearances to be insignificant cameos. I want to see character advancement no matter how small the role. If it's just, "Hey, look! It's Betty!", then I'd rather she not appear at all (Which is why I'm apprehensive). This is why I respectfully (and regretfully) disagree with the people who want to see The Defenders shoe-horned into A:IF. The movie already has enough characters. While it would be cool to see them, what purpose would they serve other than further over-stuffing the plot?

Good, because BvS character-assassinated him as badly as MoS did Jonathan Kent. Perry's supposed to be a mean boss with a heart of gold -- he yells and screams a lot, but he's really a caring father figure and the unshakeable moral center of the Daily Planet. But BvS's "Perry" was a sleazy tabloid editor with no integrity or respect for journalism, and a total waste of Lawrence Fishburne.
