Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I could see keeping one in disassembled form on board that you could put together and use if you had a need for a smaller warp capable scout.

I think this is the last time I'm going to make jokes about my orders from Eaglemoss. Package arrived today, issues 11 and 40...only, issue 40 was packaged with a Reliant model, not the Enterprise B. So I have one Reliant magazine, one Enterprise B magazine and two Reliant models. Let me guess, they'll have some new stock in on Tuesday? I kept making Tuesday jokes all week... Got a refund for issue 40, but can't send it back - not much use when it is incorrectly packaged. It would have happened at the factory in China, since as the magazine and model are together in a factory-sealed plastic bag.

There's a buy 2 get 1 free offer on right now, a chance for me to get a few other ships that I have been looking at. Right...??? With Eaglemoss, anything is possible (and not the positive kind of anything, either!).

I checked out the local comic con today. I had to go to work, so I only had time to do a quick look around. (I'll have more time tomorrow and Sunday). I only found one vendor with models and most of them were either ones I already had or wasn't that excited about.

I did have a bit of a dilemma though: The one interesting thing they had was a 3-pack of the C, D, and E. I'd really like the other two, but I already have a D (plus it's a bit more than I was counting spending. I basically budgeted for two, although this is still a bit less than the price of three). Not sure if I should take out some more cash and get it or not. (It may not even be there tomorrow anyway). What do you think?

In other news, I broke ANOTHER ship this week. I was reaching for the Hideki and knocked over the Galor in front of it. It fell on the floor and the little tail thingy snapped off. (Ugh). Fortunately, my trusty glue took care of it.

As I was moving my Borg Sphere tonight while moving ships around to get the Reliant into my cabinet, I did it yet again...nudged the Federation Mission Scoutship ever so slightly (with the Borg Sphere), which proceeded to fall off the stand, and also knock the Delta Flyer off its stand. Oh, it didn't knock into the Delta Flyer's stand, either - the vibrations alone caused the Delta Flyer to fall off its stand. I don't fit the Federation Mission Scoutship too tightly into its stand, don't want to scratch the paintwork (haven't bothered with sanding the stand yet), but the Delta Flyer fits fine into its stand.

I don't have any eaglemoss but I have the Spin master Enterprise drone and a few other little ships. Kittens knocked them off my shelf twice last week, breaking one. I put them away until the kittens were gone. Put them back up this morning. And our old cat that leaves and comes back every few months show up this afternoon. And promptly jumped on the shelf knocking them on the floor.

Sometimes you can't win.

That isn't the Trek spirit! It seems I will have to quote those immortal lines...
"My God Bones, what have I done?"
"What you always do, Jim - turn death into a fighting chance to live."

I kept flashing to catspaw myself, with the giant cat attacking the crew.

Either that or just "You broke your little ships".

In other news, I bought the 3-pack of the C,D, and E. Not sure what I'll do with a second "D". I'll look at the other two closer when I get home (currently at work).

This means I now have all the non-special Enterprises save for the refit (which I'm not in a hurry for, since I have the "A") and the "B" (which I really do want).

Goodluck on getting the Enteprise B...hope you like the Reliant a lot.

Is the Borg Sphere their only model where the stand fits into a hole rather than "cradle" the ship?

Yeah pretty much

Yeah, I'm not sure what the reasoning behind that was, especially since they included an identical hole on both sides so it doesn't matter what side you use. I suppose the nature of a spherical ship meant that was the only way to secure it on the stand (no way to clip it on like the other ships), rather than having just rest on a stand and be much more prone to falling over.

Well, I'll probably be ordering it from some vendor on eBay at some point (being Canadian, I don't think I can order directly from Eaglemoss anyway), so hopefully I'll have better luck. (Actually, I would like a Reliant at some point, though).

Can you post a link to the vendor you use? Everyone I see on eBay looks to be fake Chinese copies.

Really nice fun models with the C especially being a delight. I think because we only ever saw her bashed up and the Ambassador only ever appeared in the background otherwise it never quite clicked what a cool design she was. Especially impressive considering that (even with the head start of the observstion lounge models) she must have had the fastest development of any Enterprise.

It's a shame the Eaglemoss C is the least accurate model in the entire collection :P

Has anyone modded their ships?

I've pulled off the mission pod of 1 of my Danubes, and painted engine colours with permanent markers on other ships.
If you have 2 D'Kyrs, you might get able to cut out the Tal'Kyr support craft of 1.
Or label the UES Intrepid.

I was actually thinking of putting together a Jaeger (Marquis Raider + Voyager) and a few of the DS9 frankenfleet, but decided against it, as purchasing models outside the subscription didn't fit well into my budget.
