Star Trek: Aurora--"Mudd in Your I" conclusion now online

Thanks, All, for your kind comments about Mudd in Your I, and Aurora. It's been a lot of fun creating these characters and stories, and also a fun challenge to try to stay true to the Star Trek ethos while doing so. Hearing this kind of appreciation for Aurora makes all the work worth it. The new fan film guidelines as they are currently written certainly present an impediment for further Aurora episodes, unfortunately. A number of people have suggested that I "un-Trek" the series and have these same characters in a non-Star Trek setting--and it's tempting since I have invested a lot into these characters--but the truth is that the core of Aurora for me has always been my love and appreciation for Star Trek, and the thrill of creating something in that universe, even if only unofficially. Perhaps, in time, CBS/P will reconsider some of these restrictions--particularly the ban on recurring characters, and the time limits--but until then, it seems I will need to move on to some new venture outside of Star Trek. But, that said, it has been a lot of fun, and I'm glad to have contributed my small piece to the Star Trek world.
Aurora is one of my favorite fan film series- it shows me a part of the Star Trek universe I always wanted to see. Most of the other shows deal with classic hero ships and either mimic existing crew or their counterparts on nearly identical ships, Aurora shows the part of that world which makes everything else possible- the working people.
It also took astounding courage to have your lead character flawed in such a unique manner- completely understandable given the context but still horrific.

It is a shame the current reading of the guidelines will curtail this series, perhaps as things go on and true boundaries defined there will be a chance to revisit it. Until then I wish you the best in the new project- considering how you dealt with Aurora I am sure it will be fantastic. Be sure to post somewhere so we can find it when things get futher along, I am looking forward to it.

That was great Tim and thank you for casting me, as the father of this future Klingon dynasty it will be no puny honor for the lieutenant. I hope you find a way to keep your universe going because your talent is amazing and should continue to be seen.

Qaplah
LOL--you did the part great honor!

Finally found time to sit down and watch the last part. Absolutely loved it, and just wanted to say thanks again for letting me have a small part.

I would love to see you do another one, but I absolutely understand if you don't. Whatever you do next though, I'll watch.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for your help--as a Klingon, you were a menace, in a good way! ;-)

Thanks! I'm glad you've enjoyed these movies. As I've noted elsewhere, I was always intrigued by the civilians in Star Trek, even as a little kid watching it for the first time, it struck me that is was very daring for those civilians to be running around such a vast and sometimes dangerous galaxy without a giant heavily-armed ship. Portraying civilians also made it possible to have such a flawed lead character--Kara wasn't exactly Starfleet material, in any universe!

Tim, this fellow Texan has thoroughly enjoyed watching the adventures of Kara and T'Ling the past few years, and I cannot begin to tell you how saddened and disappointed I am that the CBS guidelines have brought Aurora to a premature end. I share your hope that someday the Powers That Be will reconsider their draconian policies. In the meantime, thank you so much for sharing this corner of the Star Trek universe with us.

Your work is top notch and while I am sad that CBS/Paramount have hindered such brilliant productions I look forward to a day when they realize they screwed up and let loose the reigns so that people like you can let their creativity run wild. Live Long and Prosper!

The screw up was by "fan film" creators who tried to turn someone else's intellectual property into profit making vehicles for their own pockets. Unfortunately they caused collateral damage to people like Tim, who just wanted to do something fun that other fans could enjoy.

Thanks! Yes, it is kinda sad. I'm "packing up" my Aurora files in preparation for my next venture, and it does feel a bit like saying goodbye to Kara & T'Ling, but with some hope that we'll see them again. That said, it's been a lot of fun creating these stories, and even more fun sharing them!

Thanks! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Yep, somebody always has to push it too far. I guess I'm thankful that the guidelines came out as I was finishing the last part of Mudd in Your I, and not in the middle! I think I just squeaked in under the wire...

Just finished watching the pilot episode. Very well done!
Need to clear time to watch "Mudd in Your I" but I'm already sad to hear that AuroraTrek is defunct :(.

It's a shame that we won't see more Aurora, but I look forward to seeing any new endeavour you come up with, Tim. Your hard work in producing Aurora is very much appreciated by this fan. The original story is one of my favourite Star Trek stories, period.:cool::cool::cool:

This video suddenly turned up in my feed even though it's close to two years old...it does feature the two main characters from the Aurora series, and besides, ''if you've never seen it before, it's still new!''
