General thoughts on ENT?

'Enterprise' is worthy of the name Star Trek

Hard to agree with some of their ep choices (Acquisition, Two days two nights), but I guess they are arguing more about Trek principles than technically good episodes. PLUS the whole thing is so refreshingly positive and generous-minded that overall it's hard not to like.

EDIT: Blastr (who did the above video) has some other pretty cool Trek vids, although they get almost no views for some reason.

I liked the episode Damage where Archer becomes a pirate-that was pretty cool I mean yeah the aliens they stole from probably died and it was aweful but it wasn't Benjamin "give up or I'll destroy this planet Sisko." Bad morals-I mean a desperate situation and given Archer's characterization I'm sure he probably felt bad about it-liked that episode a lot.

Would have been very appropreate if there had been some mention of going back and looking for that ship, or that the Xindi were asked to do so.

Or at least Archer sitting in his office and wondering out loud "is there something I forgot?"

Was T'Pol's penchant for wearing painted-on catsuits also a reflection of her - supposed - Romulan ancestory? I picked it up, from somewhere, that T'Pol was part Romulan.
I think this was a possible outcome if the series went on for more seasons. I don't think it ever went beyond just a conceptual stage.

Vulcans like catsuits.

Young humans and Ferengi like Vulcans in catsuits. As do Bajorans.

Jolene Blalock's catsuits never flattered her, nor did her hair and makeup. I wonder if she'd ever complained about that? The catsuits should've used printed patterns to enhance, or diminish aspects of her figure. I've always hated Robert Blackman's costumes ...

The first two seasons were pretty bad. The lighter, longer hair and the non Vulcan High Command uniforms were better.

I believe they cancelled the show at the worst possible time. Seriously, at the end of season three I thought the show, while getting better, hadn't made enough improvements to warrant it's survival plus the Nazi double decker episode that started season 4 was only so so, if that. But the rest of season 4 really left me wanting more. It's too bad that they had to end on a clunker like TATV, though. But if we forget about the nazi thing and TATV, season 4 was aces and if season 5 could have been more of the same then I really would have liked to see that.

i really liked enetroise up until the xindi i thiught the sotry arch dragged on : was so xcited innthe first season with the introduction of aliens who are common olace in tos being new : really do love the crew if the enterprise and skott bakuka is a phenominal actor : i also love that the character of archer plays like a captain kirk who wants to be a captain picard : i think this isnt really in the writing i thinknits a testimony to bakuka not just being like cool im on star trek (coughing janeway) but rather really creating a shaded nuianced (sp) character : i reall like trips character a lot too : malcom progressed well : i really like that the characters all had very strong personal story arcs : the only flaw for me is that some of the sptry lines dragged on a little bit : and way too much time travel stuff. but overall i love captain archer character how dark and unforgiving he can be and also how hopeful. i think added a layer of meaning as it mirrored earth struggling to re define itself . i also like the way they leave earth thinking all these other species will be so enlightened and we learn so much and by the end they ate like man all these specieas are dbags we have learned so much lol over all i think its a very good series i prefer up to the midpoint of season 3 more though actually

If only the show was on a network that actually cared about its success.

I actually looked up a list of UPN programs earlier today. Abysmal. Frankly, it's amazing that Enterprise and Voyager were as good as they were.

She didn't look frumpy. You have rather conventional tastes, is all....
What? How dare you, Sir ...!!! I know you hate TATV ... how WELL I know ... but that's really where the T'Pol character was allowed to look beautiful and radiant, during Enterprise's run. It was like, "FINALLY!!!" The only other time that I thought the show came close to flattering her, was in her wedding dress. It wasn't quite where it needed to be, and she still had that shitty wig on, but it was a good effort, considering. I know everybody just LOVES Jolene in the MU outfits, but ... I mean ...

Terry Farrell looked gorgeous in her TOS mini, I don't know what went wrong, with T'Pol. It just didn't work, that's all. She can't carry EVERY look. Some things need more work to look great on her and Robert Blackman sucks as a costume designer, anyway. I'm sure he's a really sweet soul and cranks these outfits out with a quickness, but ... he's completely tasteless in his fashion sensibilities.
