Starship Size Argument™ thread

I know we shouldn't bump old threads but this is relevant. Today I finally got my Klingon Battlecruiser/D7/Warbird Eaglemoss model and magazine, and inside they have some good photos of the original CG model... and it has a shit-ton of tiny windows. Designer Alex Jaeger talks about adding more smaller windows to give a greater sense of scale in the magazine, although they never give an actual size for it.

So yeah, they scaled up this bad boy too.

The Kelvin Enterprise had at least 31 decks (Beyond) and this thing seems to carry nearly all of its habitable area in the nose section, leave room for the torpedo area and it's not far off that kind of volume.

Assuming nearly all the Stardrive is engineering spaces.

If there's a bunch of pictures, could you try to give us more of them? And clearer, if possible? I consume these like they're chocolate for my soul.

I think the Narada, Borg Cube and the Voth city ship are among the biggest.

'Course, the Dyson Sphere is the largest structure we've seen.

OK with those in mind I'd go for the Narada, biggest single ship and Borg Cube 2nd place. Not sure how big the Voth city ship was.

Me neither. I was using one of those sci-fi size comparison charts. I haven't seen the episode with the Voth.

Here you go @Belz...

Having a proper read (instead of an ohmigodgottasharethis!! glance), it seems the pic I posted above was still a concept phase, where the model had been built but details and paint not yet added. This however is the final ILM model. It's missing many of the windows Jaeger spanned all over the command section - but it does still have two rows of windows in each of the grooves along the front of the forecastle whereas the original D7 and K'tinga's only had one. So I'd guess it's been scaled up by at least 2x the original's 214m.

Wasn't the Enterprise-J supposed to be something like a mile long?

Also, in the shooting script for TMP, V'ger was said to be about 78km in length.

Borg cube is 3km to a side.

Yes, I forgot V'Ger. I hadn't counted it as a ship, but he may qualify. If so, he's the biggest. But then, no crew.
