Non-Consecutive/Multi Series arcs

I've been reading The Fall: The Crimson Shadow for a while now, and all of the Cardassian stuff got me thinking about how the development of Cardassia and it's politics has been weaving in and out of different books, and different series for a while now. We've also had the Andorian reproductions crisis and Data's return come in and out of the different series. I thought it might be nice to try to put together a list of which novels some of these different stories were featured in.

Cardassia:
The Lost Era: The Terok Nor trilogy
DS9: A Stitch in Time
DS9: Mission Gamma (I believe at least a couple of them dealt with the situation on Cardassia, but I can't remember exactly which ones)
Worlds of DS9: Cardassia: The Lotus Flower
DS9: The Never Ending Sacrifice
Typhon Pact: Brinkmanship
The Crimson Shadow

Shedai Genome/Andorian Reproduction Crisis (started seperate but became tied together)
All of Vanguard
Gateways/DS9: Demon of Air and Darkness (I can't remember for sure if this one dealt with the stuff going on with the Andorians, but I do know it dealt with Shar and his mother trying to get him to come home. If it doesn't belong I'll remove it)
DS9: Mission Gamma (I think the Andorian arc was featured in several of these, but I can't remember for sure which ones)
WoDS9: Andor: Paradigm
The Fall: A Ceremony of Loses
DS9: The Missing (I'm not sure about this one since I haven't read it yet, but the blurb includes a reference to the Shedai, so I'm including it for now)

Destiny Recovery:
A Singular Destiny
TNG: Losing the Peace
TTN: Over A Torrent Sea

Data development and new life:
TNG: Immortal Coil
TNG: Cold Equations trilogy
TNG: The Light Fantastic

Neyel:
TLE: The Sundered
TTN: The Red King

Mirror Universe:
Mirror Universe: Glass Empires
MU: Sorrows of Empire
MU: Obsidian Alliances
MU: Shards and Shadows
WoDS9: Bajor: Fragments and Omens (not directly identified as a Mirror Universe story, but later books reveal it was)
DS9: Warpath
DS9: Fearful Symmetry
DS9: The Soul Key
MU: Rise Like Lions
S31: Disavowed

Bashir and Section 31:
DS9/Section 31: Abyss
Typhon Pact: Zero Sum Game
TF: A Ceremony of Loses
S31: Disavowed
S31: Control

EDIT 1: Added A Ceremony of Loses to Bashir and S31.

I really like this idea. It reminds me a bit of how Memory Alpha calls out arcs in it's episode entries, even for non-consecutive episodes. It's also less intimidating than the Flowchart.

(Hm, that's odd. I could've sworn MA listed a Klingon or Gowron Arc stretching from "Reunion" to "Tacking into the Wind," but now I don't see it.)

Seriareen:
VGR: Unworthy
VGR: Acts of Contrition
VGR: Atonement

Children of the Storm
Destiny: Mere Mortals
VGR: Children of the Storm

I don't know if I'd really consider the Delta Quadrant Mission the kind of arc I'm talking about since it's pretty much a continuous arc in one series.

Yeah, that's a good point. I removed it.

Bashir and Section 31:
DS9/Section 31: Abyss
Typhon Pact: Zero Sum Game
(I think there were more books here, but I'm drawing a blank)
S31: Disavowed
S31: Control
This should also include The Fall, Book III: A Ceremony of Losses.

Ok, I'll add it. I knew it involved the Andorians, but I wasn't aware of S31.

I am not sure if this counts as an arc:
the 20th century
Little Green Men (DS9)
From History's Shadow
Assignment: Earth (TOS)
Tomorrow is Yesterday (TOS)
The Aliens Are Coming!
Assignment: Eternity
The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh Vol I
Elusive Salvation
The Voyage Home (STIV)
The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh Vol II
Future's End I (VGR)
Future's End II (VGR)
The structure of the th century is basically that we have a bunch of episodes that all impact From History's Shadow. Probably not technical a story arc...

I'd add The Missing to the Cardassia list, and also Una's Hollow Men since it relates to the NES.

If you want to extend S31 to more than Bashir, and the broader narrative of their role in the 2370s-80s, Hollow Men (during the Dominion War in 2374) and David Mack's A Time to Kill and A Time to Heal and KRAD's A Time for War, A Time for Peace (set in 2379 or 80).

I'd say the books count, although I was skipping over the episodes and movies.

You can ditch "The Aliens Are Coming!" A revised version of events from that story is included in From History's Shadow.

For whatever my thinking is worth, I've also added Greg's The Rings of Time to my little tangle of FHS/EW/ES story threads. I've also tried to maintain consistency with Christopher's DTI stories as well as a couple of SNW tales that touch on time periods explored here. Any errors in that regard are mine alone.

And you can also add the TNG novel Hearts and Minds to the end of the list.

Section 31 gets founded at the very end of Elusive Salvation, so if your doing a general S31 list this should be on it.

Oh yeah I remember that. I was reading From History's Shadow and was approaching the part that played at roughly the same part as The Aliens Are Coming!, so I bought it to read it after the sections of From History's Shadow that were set at roughly the same time.

Wait, what does EW stand for?
I read through the entire 20th century a few months ago and I there was one very minor inconsistencies. According to Forgotten History it took place on April 4th, while From History's Shadow places it between the 29th and 30th of March. I just ignored that line in the DTI novel and went with the From History's Shadow dates.

One question: Robertas line about "I could write a book about the trouble some of these people have given us. Maybe two." was a reference to the two Khan books or FHS and ES?

EW = Eugenics Wars.

With respect to the Elusive Salvation spoilers, I wouldn't go that far. Though seeds are planted, we're still a long way away from THAT THING happening. :)

It was a cheeky reference to the EW books. :)

Ah, okay. I should have seen that.

I guess my brain just went into full-on fanboy mode after the last sentance, thanks for clearing that up.

I love this sorta thing. Not straight out breaking the fourth wall, but leaning against it. Just great. (that reminds me of the X-Men nod in New Frontier Stone and Anvil)
