Actually, since leaving the Potter-verse I think she has generally chosen well in her roles, with Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, and Noah, all being interesting films with solid (and different) performances from her. I have not had the opportunity to see Colonia but the reviews of it and her have been generally favourable.Anyone else looking forward to Watson being in a good movie for a change? Harry Potter 3 and 4 were solid, and This is the End was great, but she was just a cameo there...![]()
Next up: Lady and the Tramp! You heard here first! Not news enough to make a new thread, but Disney's next live action movie will be a Lion King remake, with Jon Favreau (Iron Man 1-2 and The Jungle Book) directing.

That makes Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast. With 101 Dalmatians, The Little Mermaid and Mulan also in line to get new live action adaptations.

I've been trying to figure out how The Lion King one is going to work. Is it just going to be CGI animals in live action environments? Or are they going to work humans into it somehow? Not news enough to make a new thread, but Disney's next live action movie will be a Lion King remake, with Jon Favreau (Iron Man 1-2 and The Jungle Book) directing.

You mean photoreal CG animals in photoreal CG environments, like Jungle Book? I assume that's what they'll do, but without human characters, as you say, I don't see the point. I mean, I assume they won't use the original movie's audio track, but I don't see how you can improve on that voice cast, either. Do they re-hire the originals and give them new lines? Will Millennials who grew up with the original stand for such a touchstone of their childhoods being remade? Will all the old songs be reprised, and can legit musical numbers really work with photoreal CG animals? Will this all prove to be as unnecessary and unasked-for as this year's Ben-Hur remake? So many questions!I've been trying to figure out how The Lion King one is going to work. Is it just going to be CGI animals in live action environments?
