Doctor Who stars Convention earnings

I'd always wondered why Matt Smith and David Tennant seem to pop up at a different Convention every other week despite having, you know, actual paying work. Then I read this:

That's a bit insane really, but does explain why you see bigger and bigger stars at cons these days. I was surprised that the London ComicCon could draw the likes of Mads Mikkleson and Jeremy Renner but guess it makes sense now.

Can't say I blame them, how many of us would turn down that easy a payday I wonder?

On the flip side though, it might make genre shows more attractive to more talented actors.
