So What Are you Reading?: Generations

Finished TNG Resistance. I've learned to not get attached or even care about new characters. The odds are they will end up dead. I was surprised when a couple in David Mack's A Time To books were still alive at the end of the story.
It gets better after Resistance. You can start care now :techman:. At least for some...

In completely unrelated news, I finished the Daedalus duology, which I liked very much, though I still prefer By the Book and What Price Honor?. Next on my list is Last Full Measure and The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

I'm reading the first story in the collected stories of Star trek Tos Mere Anarchy BY Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore.

I just finished re-reading (for the fourth or fifth time) The Crimson Shadow. I adore that book. I'm about to start (as in, I literally bought it two minutes ago) Rules of Accusation.

As for non-Treklit, I'm about a third of the way through Ron Chernow's Alexander Hamilton. It's interesting, but slow going.

Im in the midst of Child of Two Worlds. It's fun to take a tale that could easily have been a boring 5ym adventure, change the time setting, and it becomes much more interesting.

I finished Star Trek: DS9: Rules of Accusation by Paula M. Block & Terry J. Erdmann.
I'm currently over half way through Star Trek: DTI: Time Lock by Christopher L. Bennett.

Just (finally) finished reading "Rough Beasts of Empire" (ST-Typhon Pact) by David R. George III (2011). It was wonderful. On to "Paths of Disharmony" by Dayton Ward (2011). Other books that I completed this quarter were:
"The Normal and the Pathological" (translated by Fawcett) by Canguilhem (mentor of Michel Foucault)
"Inside Jokes" by Hurley, Dennett, and Adams, Jr. (there is a discussion about Lieutenant Commander Data)
"The Merry Wives of Windsor" by Shakespeare (read then watched at Bard-on-the-Beach)
"Pigs in the Parlor" by Hammond & Hammond (about demonization and deliverance for Christians)
"Why Grow Up?" by Neiman (about heteronomy / other direction and autonomy / inner direction)
"Peaceful Measures" by Alexander (about controversial critical thinking about drugs and wars on drugs)
"Images of Deviance & Social Control" by Pfohl (champions societal reaction and critical perspectives)
And, finally got to Season 4 of my consecutive watching of ST: TNG TV series, :-)
Currently also reading Chemistry and Microbiology texts.
And, reading "Moral Clarity" by Neiman with a reading group. Must read more ST!
Bought the fairly new e-book by Christopher L. Bennett. :-)

I am now up to Greater than the Sum. I look forward to reading Destiny again. I'm curious to see if having read the setup stories will affect my opinion of it in any way.

I read "Broaken Oaths" by Keith R.A. DeCandido, from the anthology Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Prophecy and Change.
I'm now reading "...Loved I Not Honor More" by Christopher L. Bennett, also from Prophecy and Change.

Finished Greater than The Sum. I thought it was a nice set up for Destiny. People kept going on and on about hating one particular character and she was annoying but she was supposed to be. I didn't hate her, not like I hated Wesley's girlfriend in A Time To Die.

Now that I know all of the background stories, I am looking forward to re-reading Destiny.

@Christopher I have to confess though I read it through, all that sciencey stuff goes way over my head. I am finding the non-Kirk crew characters interesting, though, but I don't know if it's just because they're surrounded by Kirk crew or whether I like them in their own right.

If you liked the delve into the other crew on the TMP-era Enterprise in Forgotten History, if you haven't read it yet I'd definitely recommend checking out Ex Machina. It's got a ton of that, and it's a great follow-up to TMP on top.

I finished "...Loved I Not Honor More" by Christopher L. Bennett from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Prophecy and Change.
I'm currently reading the next story from Prophecy and Change, "Three Sides to Every Story" by Terri Osborne.

Last book I read was Nancy Holder's Buffy book, Blood And Fog.
(Coincidentally, It's foggy here this morning, to mark October 1st. Though I tend to associate that more with Holmes - I might start The House Of Silk today)

I finished reading Star trek Enterprise Last Full Measure by Andy Mangels& Micheal Martin. I'm almost finished reading Star Trek Tos Mere Anarchy.
