ACTUAL new DSC uniforms

He's only a Lieutenant! One stripe!

But one stripe in Pike's time means he's a commissioned officer. We can't judge his rank on the basis of stripe count.

This could be the new Captain for all we know. Perhaps the ship is assigned to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers.

Another concept idea using a Gucci turtleneck. They sort of remind me of the landing party uniforms of Star Trek V.

One would think that Fuller would have answered the question of whether or not he was joking with this Tweet by now given that several responders on Twitter have asked said question, so it probably isn't a good idea just to assume that he was in fact joking and claim that it's been established that he was.

The second one is in keeping with TOS's tradition of patterned carpets and drapes as clothing.

And the first one is in keeping with TNG's tradition of men's miniskirts as part of
2360's Starfleet uniform.

So Gucci uniforms are a win-win in both cases.

I'm actually wondering what colour scheme they'll use.

In TOS Command was actually more green, it just showed up as gold due to the lighting and cameras of the day. If you go back to "The Cage" or "Where No Man Has Gone Before" there was no red in the department colours.

Might they go for:
Green: Command, Helm, Navigation
Mustard/Beige: Engineering, Operations, Security
Blue: Medical, Science

Let's just say if he's not joking then the entire new show is going to look like a joke and not last long.

Why on earth does that tweet say "The following media may contain sensitive material"?

I've been playing around with idea of five regular colours:

Red-Brown ("brick"): Engineering
Mustard/Beige: Operations/Communications, Security
Khaki: Flight Control, Weapons, Ground Forces.
Pale Blue ("cyan"): Logistics and Services (eg Yeoman, Storesman, Legalman), Medical (field medic).
Lilac: Research and Development (Life Sciences, Space Sciences etc).

I kinda hope that we'll see men in skants as well.
I hope you are kidding. We don't need to see TNG-style manskirts, either.

As for what I'd like to see, is something more like the Cage, or Where No Man Has Gone Before: lower collars same color as the shirt, more muted golds, reds and pastel blues. Black pants and boots, for male and female characters. We don't need $1000 Gucci turtle neck sweaters.

Keep it basic. Keep it utilitarian. Keep it real world. But most of all, keep it consistent with what came before.

I'm inclined to think we'll see women in miniskirt uniforms, but I also think the uniforms in general will be something of a hybrid or transition design between ENT and TOS, so jumpsuits could be possible as well.

I agree, I figure it'll be a utilitarian look. Different from the pilot which just makes sense in terms of modern cinematography and the people directing but it'll feel era appropriate. I personally hope they have something similar to the 1701 uniform I worked on for the 2240's re-imagining.
