Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

No, I mean the real studio model. Looks like it sold for $18K.

Wow, eaglemoss on Amazon is a bargain then :). The E-B on Amazon from Eaglemoss is only $14k, and it's the most expensive I've seen. Oh, and before anyone asks - no, it doesn't include the magazine. I mean, seriously, $14k and you think you're getting the magazine with it? That's nuts, no way Eaglemoss could stay in business if they included magazines at that price. Have to add a couple grand to even break even!

That's real blue sky thinking. Especially if the blue sky in question simply split up the recently reissued three packs.

On an unrelated note, it took over two years, but Eaglemoss themselves finally got a new defiant to me. My little one is now happy he has the whole collection. Plus a few he kept out for playing, that have seen more action and more repairs than their on screen counterparts. Good job Eaglemoss.

I don't think they're serious, I see this a lot with retailers on Amazon. I'm thinking it has to do with how Amazon handles listings. Maybe it's better to list an item as in stock but at an unbelievable price so no one buys it, then drop the price to normal levels if/when you want to sell the item than to close the listing and try to re-open it later?

I've started to think about tracking down a couple of my favorite ships. (I have not the money, the space, or the interest for the whole collection.) Are the TOS and TMP Enterprises just about impossible to find?

The TOS enterprise is a nice model, but the Connie refit isn't that great tbh, even when repainted as the A, it was...not their finest hour.

Hey, do any of you know where one can order specific ships in Canada? Their Canadian website is subscription only and Ebay is all Chinese fakes (at reasonable prices anyway).

I'm in Canada and close to half the ones I have were off eBay. If you wanna filter out all those sketchy entries from Hong Kong, just limit the search to North America, or if you're on the east coast (as opposed to central, like me), limit the range to 2000 km, so you get the entries from the UK as well.

Truthfully, with shipping, you're gonna pay at least $40 for shipping (and I try to avoid the ones that have an import charge), though if you get multiple ones from the same dealer, they'll usually give you a combined shipping deal if you ask.

I just bought a K't'inga class from a UK dealer, though I'm a little miffed that I paid for it three days ago and they STILL haven't shipped it (shipping should be done within ONE business day of payment).

eBay's probably your best bet for those at this point (just keep watching for the prices), though I can tell you now's a good time to look for the Enterprise-A, which was basically a re-mold of the refit Enterprise with a better color scheme, at local stores (which are almost always cheaper and you don't have to wait). Call around your local comic and collectible stores. Some of them will also special back issues for you, which is still cheaper than eBay, so ask which ones they can get. I literally just came from a store today that had two of them (I'd already bought one from them a couple of weeks ago).

Also, not all store owners may be as well-versed on the ship names as we are, so it probably helps to know the number of a issue you want. For example, refit Enterprise is #2, TOS Enterprise is #50, and Enterprise-A is #73. You can find the rest here:

On a happier note, I just came home with a D7. :D Look forward to opening it up and comparing it with TOS Enterprise (and the K't'inga, if it ever arrives)

The D7 in my humble opinion is the worst of all original TOS ships released (I m not counting the ship's from TOS remastered), but it isn't a bad release. The structure is very solid and accurate.

It has one huge plus over the K'Tinga model and that is it's neck is much more solid. A lot of people complained about a host of missing details. But most of that was junk opinion as those were details never on the original model (detail added to the Remastered version or added to the new CGI images that were meant to represent the original model). But for a ship that does have very little real detail on it, it omits the windows. And that hurts such a bare model.

You should be able to buy the real thing for that.

I don't think they use Canadian or American dollars in the 23rd Century. Picard said that Humanity had no use for money when Lily remarked how much the Enterprise E must have cost (granted, that was almost a century after The Search For Spock, but still...). Gold pressed latinum on the other hand...Dabo!

My, it's been a while since anyone added to this thread, hasn't it? I guess that's up to me. :rommie:

The K't'nga I bought on eBay a while back finally arrived today. For the most part, it looks really nice, and I'm really happy with it... for the most part. Unfortunately, this one has a bit of a flaw.

The "head" section is slightly, but noticeably tilted (kind of like a dog does, when it's confused). You can see it from pretty much any angle. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do, short of sending it back.

I suppose you could probably see if you could pull it off (without breaking it) and re-seat it properly with some superglue.

I was thinking that, and I do have some very good glue (I've had to reattach a nacelle to the Equinox more than once), but looking at the "head" section, there's no seam attaching it to the "neck". Rather, the top half of the "head" and "neck" are one piece, while the bottom of each are another.

I'm not sure if this is simply one that slipped past qualify control at the factory, or it had been in the box too long (it was a sealed copy imported from the UK, and given the release date of irishtrekkie's review video on YouTube, this issue came out a good three years ago).

I got new "Warp Delta" issue yesterday (#82) Not really one I've been desperate for exactly but I seem to be collecting all the Starfleet ones so why not. Nice little model, just nothing spectacular really, it does make you realise how lame the model we got of the fellow United Earth Ship Intrepid (#44) looks in comparison though!

I'll be picking up the Warp Delta today - it's one I've been looking quite forward to, and the images I've seen on Facebook are just beautiful. In fact, to me it has the feel of the ships they might have used in the novel 'Starfleet: Year One' during the Romulan Wars and before the Daedalus-class was commissioned (if Enterprise had never been retconned). I'm also ordering the Pasteur this weekend from the UK Eaglemoss shop. Question for Ethros - on your AGT Enterprise D, have they corrected the strange spelling error behind the shuttlebay on the top of the saucer section (the 'Intiaparinu' text that should have been 'Enterprise-D'?)? If I get the Pasteur, I may have to get the AGT Enterprise D just so it doesn't look odd that I have one but not the other in my collection.
