Man I wish that thing was about 30 dollars less. Then it'd be low enough to at least tempt me. Someday I'll find a used one on eBay I'm sure.

The last version was on Kindle (see here), but it's been removed from the Amazon store ("not available for purchase"). I'm guessing so they can sell the new edition. The new edition might have a Kindle version after its release in October.

I'm tempted, but $88 is still a lot of quatloos right now.
I saw the old CD-ROM version for sale - I was a sucker for the marketing copy on the back of that, that promised "Your Encyclopedia will never be out of date" thanks to updates from S&S. It was updated once and then never again. Oh, well. It was still a fun product.

You just need to be patient... Rather than doing little updates here and there, they'll update it once more when there is no more Star Trek being made, ever, just so it really is up to date permanently.

Or maybe they'll just save the update for when Star Trek becomes reality. Then they'll only have to change the name to just "Encyclopedia".

I actually emailed them at the time to complain, and they wrote back, saying, no, sorry, no more updates planned. Voyager was still on the air at the time, the TNG crew was still making movies. I was bummed.
