No, maybe because the official acronym is DSC. Just as it is TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT. No "ST"s there also.
As far as I'm concerned the only STD in the 50 year franchise is Star Trek into Darkness. And I mean that both figuratively and literally.
How about DIS? I mean, if we have ENT and VOY then why not DIS?
The top boss at CBS, John Van Citters, confirmed that Discovery will be shortened to DSC. How about DAT?
DSC is CBS's designation, just as VGR was their designation for Voyager and ETP was their designation for Enterprise. We have not followed CBS's designation in the past, I don't see why we have to follow it now.
I still like dis better.
I can live with DIS. But that STD gives me an itch I can't scratch.
I still like dis better.
If you hit "Report" you just get an empty page with this:Don't DIS the new acronym.
On another note: I've been here for 17 years. I've never seen a forum without a mod. Outside of TNZ in the very beginning. I guess they have that much faith in us.

This won't seem like a real forum until there's a bunch of crap pinned to the top.
Disco is like any other genre of music: a relatively few good or even great pieces of music, and a whole lot of garbage. The main problem with Disco is one that it shares with a few other genres, like electronica, metal, and chiptune: as a genre, when it IS bad, it's *offensively BAD* and hard to just ignore. A bad jazz piece with a couple of acoustic instruments and a singer can generally be ignored. Lots of what is played on current "New Country" or Top 40 radio IS bad, but can be tuned out pretty easily most of the time. But bad Disco is like fingernails on a chalkboard.I like Disco. It got a bad rap in the 70s.

Little known fact: Disco music makes everything better!
