Anyone know of any live streams or live blogs covering the panel?
Trekcore and many other websites are live tweeting multiple events, including the current Kelvin timeline panel with Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller.

Big news: Discovery will not be bingeable:
Star Trek: Discovery will not be bingeable, but they're bundling them with a novel and comic book run? Brave leap into 1995! #StarTrekNY

How does one define binge able. We know they are releasing one episode a week so this really isn't big news.

I'm assuming it means A) you can't just order it at the end of the series and watch them all

B) They won't have all the episodes available for the entire 13 episode airing...perhaps 2 or 3 at a time on demand.

So yes, this is big news for those who were going to binge or mini-binge.

I think it is fairly safe to say, they wont decide not to have all episodes available on demand soon after all 13 have aired. Especially with possibly a year between each series/season.

Have to say Rama's take on what it means popped into my head too. Especially with the comment about appointment television and needing structure in our lives.
Another possibility is something I remember reading somewhere...
The most bingeable TV shows aren’t the ones with more complex plots, which viewers savor over a longer period of time.

This isn't word for word, but the best I can do from just memory.

So we're going to pay money for a service which will not have all episodes on demand? That sucks even worse than paying to see ads.

Personally, I like that all episodes won't be immediately available. I find that there's a lot more discussion and community interaction with shows like Game of Thrones where there's time to talk about each episode compared to things like the various Netflix Marvel series where everything is dumped at once and no one's watching on the same schedule.

As for whether or not it'll all be available on demand, has that actually been confirmed? That is how some other channels do streaming, although usually by the end of the season the whole thing will be put back up.
