I have seen a number of people kicked off that page, and sometimes it has been unfair, but on other occasions it has been just wrong, where the person banned has either simply made a mistake, has been subject to a false accusation or was someone who had previously dared to disagree with Mr. Hinman on something, such as the approach of the group. In all cases any objections have been met swiftly with a stubborn refusal to consider an explanation or different viewpoint.
Mr. Hinman's problem, in my opinion, is that he is not unlike Alec Peters. I will let you draw your own conclusions over what I mean by that. The CBS/Paramount vs Axanar has gone from being an objective group of interested people to an obsessive, belligerent echo chamber, and part of the responsibility for that must lie with how it is run. The original group that it born out of - "I Stand With CBS" - had a very clear intention of standing out as a response to Peters' approach of labeling people haters and banning people, by not doing so. Unfortunately, the subsequent group has morphed into the same things as Peters' groups, and some of it's members seem to have taken the desire to see Alec Peters fall as their own personal crusade. I find that a bit sad. It's an attitude that has put me off engaging in the debate to any extent anymore. While I agree with most of what Mr, Hinman and his troops have to say about Axanar and Peters, it is the method by which they approach it that leaves a lot to be desired, and I think it costs them potential support.
