City on the Edge of Forever

Rewatching it for the first time in probably 20 years just a day or two ago, and I'm seeing how much of a theme pedestrians almost hit crossing the street was, all through the episode.
Yes I watched this episode today on CBS Action and noticed the same thing.
I found that I actually got goose pimples at the scene when Edith crosses the road, like at a very good opera or movie.
Was wondering if Edith has subconsciously picked something up from meeting Kirk and Spock hence how in the alternative time line she can talk of atomic power and put together a strong enough pacifist argument to delay USA joining WW2.
There was another recent thread talking about that though.

where was the thread?

During this last watch my wife pointed out that Edith wasn't killed by the truck in the original timeline, she was killed by the car that Kirk stops her from stepping out in front of just after they exit the mission. They just got lucky with the truck.

Could be.
