Trek Relaunch: Thank you!

Even though I'm still on the DS9 relaunch and still feel like I'm living in 2003 when it comes to the Trek lit universe, I feel like the books are where I go to get that New Trek. I like the Abrams films, Star Trek moreso than Into Darkness, but we've only had two and it's just a new kind of Trek feel. The books takes me back to the era I was a fan of and, while I'm still reading Unity, I've really enjoying what they do bring to the DS9 mythos. I'm thinking about transitioning from DS9 to another series (I've heard the Enterprise Destiny Books are really good, but I also want to do some TNG or maybe finally read Homecoming and Further Shore) after I finish as kind of a break point. There's just so much to read it might start feeling a little overwhelming.

Just stick with it, there's absolutely no rush and so much to read. Even though it's daunting, they can't pump out new books faster than you can read them I'm sure, so eventually you'll catch up. I was in your shoes, I was in 2003 back in 2011, but now that it's 2015, I'm already in late 2011!

Well I finished Uncertain Logic after an enjoyable detour through Seekers 3, and am now caught up on all four relaunches, two years+ after starting the project.

I believe the technical term is "w00t!" I really like where the ENT relaunch has gone, it's a different feel from the others because it is aiming toward a known future as opposed to an open-end, so it is more like both a relaunch and the filling-in-the-spaces books as well. The Vanguard/Seekers arc is a bit like this as well, which is all to the good.

Now to fill in some of the other spots I've missed and catch up on some favorite authors' work. Next up, Greg's Rings of Time. :D

i've read bits and pieces of the post-series books over the years. I have finally tracked down the older DS9/VOY post-series stuff. So i started a fresh from the start reading with Avatar. I'm currently a chapter in on Mission Gamma: Twilight. I'm really loving the DS9 post-series run so far.

...just wanted to say my opinion hasn't changed. Thank you all very much... :D
Almost done w/the Lost Era books, then on to IKS Gorkon.

I'm finally reading the 'A Time To Books'. Then I plan to read everything in order, including the Titan stories. Someday I'll catch up!

My problem has been I can buy books quicker than I can reed them, though I am limited in amounts of cash... Also my poison of choice has limited my reading speed (reading in German takes a lot longer than in Dutch or English), but the books I have read have absolutely drawn me in. Currently though I'm re-reading an awesome fanfic (Taskforce 43 by Zcenicx on Spacebattles.com), after which I will start in the back of what is there: Star Trek Prometheus and Prey when and as they come out.

Though i must be fair, I have the first two Prometheus books already.

I have the opposite problem. I read much too fast. If I have the time I can read the average Star Trek novel in less than a day. I was an early reader as a child and for whatever reason, I just cannot slow down so I zoom through the books.

My problem is simply lack of time. I read fast generally, even though German reading (other than law books that is) does slow me down significantly, I read more study books because I want to be thorough in my essays. So I scarcely find time for trek reading, even during the summer holidays.

I love the relaunch era. I've been a lifelong Trekkie, but to be completely honest,I don't know how into Trek I would be today if it weren't for the relaunch. The relaunch brought about a whole new passion for Trek for me.
This is the same for me. If it weren't for the relaunch, Trek would be a dead universe to me, not unlike post-prequel Star Wars. Instead, with the relaunch, Trek is as vital and compelling for me so it has ever been.

I have lamented the "no new film"-thing for a long time, but since I finally found the books (I did know there were loads of them but never found the incentive to buy them, after all Dutch bookshops don't sell them at all), I have been immersing myself and going where I had never gone before.

I just dislike that I only joined in on the fun so "late" in life

Having just finished -- and really liked -- Enigma Tales, I'd just like to reaffirm what I've said here before. Thank you very much... even with a new show imminent, TrekLit is still as important as ever.
Keep up the great work, gentlebeings.
