Well, according to Memory Beta, Ralph Offenhouse was appointed as Federation Secretary of Commerce. Quite a career!
Star Trek Destiny Novels - Mere MortalsWhere do they get that from?
Err, why?But can't they write anything they want in novels, without regard to coherence?
Err, why?
Wasn't she the "legal expert" in The Ensigns of Command?Maybe we have totally misunderstood Troi's role as "Counselor" all these years.
Maybe... she's really the ship's LAWYER.

It's an interesting view. A psychologist must keep a distance from his/her patients. But it seems to me she was a little too much involved with her fellow crew members. And it was inevitable, really. I mean, there was only a bar in the Enterprise. Where had she to spend her free time?!?
Edit: And how the heck she had free time?
The problem with her character it that she was too many things. She is a bridge officer, she is the ship therapist, she is a diplomatic, in Darmok she is even a linguist. Really, I know that the writers didn't know what to do with her, but they overcompensated a little too much.I thought the most interesting function for Troi was as the Captain's Counselor in regard to diplomatic matters - counselling him on alien cultures' norms, language, etc. I wish that was depicted more during the series.
I guess they didn't want to make her ship's telephone operator, like she could have become if she had been at comms.
I don't even remember the one who was at comm.
Usually the Tactical Officer/Security Officer was in charge of communications.I don't even remember the one who was at comm.

While a interesting place to maybe visit, I wouldn't want to live there. If I was compelled to live there the rest of my life I would feel that I was being forced.FORCED to live every Trekkie's dream, by having to live out the remainder of her existence in the 24th Century world of STAR TREK
Much rather have the billionaire, than the millionaire.Right! I believe that one of them should consider running for President of Un...Hey, millionaires are smart!
Oh. Never mind.
