The X-Files : Season X (Spoilers!)

The fact that they're saying they'll have something this time next year is a little odd. Are they saying we'll be getting more episodes by this time next year, or just that they won't be announcing anything until then?

They just said that they'll have news this time next year, but that new episodes won't have aired. According to Anne Simon' Twitter feed: Duchovny, Anderson, and Carter (or their representation) are currently in the midst of negotiating right now for what will constitute Season 11 (shooting timeframe, episode count, salary increase, etc.).

Most sites are reporting that we won't get new episodes until the 2017/2018 TV season, at the earliest.

I hope that they continue the short season format. It can't take too much to get the actors to shoot 6-8 episodes a year.

I still say it won't happen for at least 5 years.

Yea I'm betting on that too. Seems to be a pattern for them.

I was thinking the latter given the wording.

Thanks for the links, LeadHead.*

I was hoping for maybe 13 episodes for the next season, but 10 is still a good number of stories.

It looks like Aquarius is heading to the chopping block; perhaps that will free up some time in Duchovny's schedule. Anderson seems like the more in-demand and busy actor, though, so her schedule may be the thornier issue when it comes to locking down a timeframe for shooting the new season.

Given Bryan Fuller's penchant to cast her in his projects, Anderson may already have an undisclosed role in Star Trek: Discovery. If so, that may be another scheduling hurdle to overcome.

I hope that it's not. Honestly. I find it more interesting to watch than the XF now. Sorry not sorry to CC and co.

She was interested in 8, so it'll be interesting to see if they can get her to go with 10.

That would be one heck of a cross over, XF and Star Trek .

I don't know how major her character is since I never made it very far in the book, but Gillian Anderson is already in American Gods, so I don't know if she'll have time for Disocery.

There is probably a fun story with Gary 7 in there.

With the X-File being the Ferengi visit to New Mexico.

I finally got to watch this. I liked the first two and the last episodes the best.

I'm not as much of a fan of the lighthearted monster episodes.

"Chris Carter will once again serve as lead writer, executive producer and showrunner. There is no word on who Carter is looking at to staff the writers room for these new episodes, which will have to pick up from the cliffhanger ending of season ten."

Not digging this. Not at all. I hope that they're able to get Glen Morgan back. He was one of the saving graces of s10 in my opinion.

I really hope they fix The X Files cliffhanger to the point where it's not doomsday on the planet and we get back to Season 1-6 X-Files. Evidently X-files has been on in syndication this fall and I watched some of Episode 2 (Deep Throat) and Ice again. It was so great to see Mulder and Scully investigating something rather than this conspiracy nonsense.

I hope so too. But I wouldn't mind some s7 XF too. I loved the flirtiness of that season. As for the mytharc, I stopped being a fan of that part of the show back in the late 90's.
