Religion and Star Trek

So you believe that Gary Mitchell was the type of person that would threaten to squash his shipmates like gnats and would choke to death a fellow officer for shits and giggles?

If you were a mosquito and suddenly became a man, wouldn't you treat your formerly fellow mosquitoes the way other humans treat them, IE by squashing them?

You are not profound or super intelligent. You are argue from ignorance and illogic. That is why you don't make sense.

You haven't made one intelligent statement since the beginning of this exchange. All you do is slander and malign, IE make gratuitous ad hominem.

I'll say that you would because you would realize that mosquitoes reproduce too fast for even their own good.

That doesn't make any sense. Why would I destroy what I once was, if I was in my normal state of mind?

If what you formerly was, was threatening what you currently are, you would destroy it rather than let it destroy you. That's a basic rule of survival.

But no one was threatening Mitchell until he started stomping on the ant hill. Mitchell wasn't rational, the episode clearly shows that.

Guess I'm just not as smart as you are...

You forget that they were considering killing him even BEFORE he threatened them in any way, on the assumption that sooner or later they would be too weak to defend themselves against him, should he decide to attack them.

Spock tosses out the idea to kill him, which Kirk rejects. The plan was to maroon Mitchell on Delta Vega. But that would've never happened if Mitchell hadn't started messing with the operation of the Enterprise.

Where No Man... said:
KIRK: Mister Scott, would you repeat what you just told us?
SCOTT: About an hour ago, the Bridge controls started going crazy. Levers shifting by themselves, buttons being pushed, instrument readings changing.
SPOCK: And on my monitor screen I could see Mitchell smiling each time it happened, as if this ship and crew were almost a toy for his amusement.

Speaking of that. Did you see that movie, made with actors from the different series, in an alternate reality where Mitchel HAD won and was all powerful in the present, IE chronologically some time before the beginning of TNG.

Never made it through fives minutes of Of Gods and Men. I'd demand those five minutes back, but I'd just waste them.
