I was surprised to see that there wasn't a thread already for this game, and this series, so here it is. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the sequel to Human Revolution, is coming out August 23rd. I have been playing this series since Game of the Year Edition. Despite it's ups and downs, the series is profoundly cyberpunk and creates a very interesting, dynamic world.

There are different trailers out there, both live action and game play, that showcase Mankind Divided's world building. It looks like an interesting game as well as an engaging cyberpunk world.

Anybody else play any of the Deus Ex games?

I've been a huge fan since the first game (I lost count of the number of times I played through that demo, let alone the full version later on).

Human Revolution was an incredibly pleasant surprise in terms of its reverence and faithfulness to the OG game, I wouldn't have thought they'd pull it off while modernizing the gameplay - the only drawback were the bossfights as a stealth heavy character, which they fixed in the Wii U version (@Bob The Skutter swears by that version, I should probably check it out at some point).

Let's not talk about Deus Ex 2 (Invisible War). And don't pick Swimming.

Do I? That's good to know.

I actually finished it on Xbox 360. Then I rented the Wii U version soon after it came out and remember thinking it was the superior version but being bored with it having only (relatively) recently played it on Xbox. So I never did finish the Wii U version.

I probably did. I do remember liking it. I'm just terribly fickle since I started renting instead of buying most games.

REtris (as I like to call it) is too hardcore for me, because of the time pressure component

I actually liked IW early on, but it fell apart, story wise, pretty much once you left Cairo.

Of interest is the Warren Spector and Harvey Smith dissection of the game and it's problems:

I really should play Human Revolution and Mankind Divided at some point, I have not played a Deus Ex game since the original one came out.

Count me in as another HR fan.

I rarely finish games, and I actually finished HR. It gets the RobMax-actually-beat-this-game seal of approval.

You really should. Mankind Divided looks amazing in it's world building and roleplay options.

Deus Ex is as utterly brilliant now as it was when I first played it.

Invisible War suxorz! (It'd be great if someone here got that reference.)

Human Revolution was a fabulous surprise. All I'd wanted for it was to be better than IW. It succeeded, in spades.

Just starting out on Mankind Divided. Hopefully it'll live up to my (fairly modest) expectations.

I'm finding hacking to be far more of a pain in the arse than in HR, but so far I'm really liking Mankind Divided. It looks incredible and the gameplay is great. Pity I don't have a lot of spare time to really get into it.

I just hope that, for once, Adam Jensen gets things he actually asked for!
