I was just reading through Ego's entry on the Marvel wiki, and I saw several ways we could get a human form Ego.
At one point they said he was formed when a humanoid scientists consciousness fused with a planet, although this was later retconned away.
If they decide to go with this origin, then maybe something happened that the scientist's consciousness splits off into a humanoid body again, or he can switch back and forth between the planet and the humanoid body, or maybe he didn't get turned into a planet until after he got Star Lord's mother pregnant.
It also says that he split off humanoid beings made out of parts of himself that he sent out to conquer the galaxy. Kurt Russel could be one of those beings.

I'm greatly enjoying the reversal image of Groot standing atop Rocket.

Never read a comic of this stuff, couldn't care less about whether it's following "canon", origins or anything. Let James Gunn go as batshit wild as he wants. Even with all of its obvious Marvel flaws (humdrum mcguffin chase, ship-fall-from-sky-finale, limp villain) GotG is one of the most fun adventures I've seen of recent years.

Baby Grooooot!!!! So cuuuuuuuute!

Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best Marvel movies they ever made and who would've thought it of a team that includes a walking, gun totin' Racoon and his buddy, a Treeman

The movie just blew me away and it's in my Top 3 Marvel movies so i have high hopes for this one and the teaser didn't disappoint (though they could have used a different music track to keep it new). Can't wait to see it.

I can say that I'm excited for every film, except Thor.

Given the director of The Third Thor Film has stated that he's aiming for a 70's-80's SF/Ftone to the film, I'd say it shoots way up that list for me. Plus, Taika Waititi has the same sense of odd-ball humour and attention to detail like James Gunn. Plus, writer/director to boot.

The test will be if, like Gunn, he can upscale his small-world film making to a Tent-Pole feature.

Hugo - no easy feat

Yeah, I think people who were disappointed by the first 2 Thor movies, should really try to keep an open mind for Ragnarok. It sounds like it's going to be a very different movie from them.

In that interview (IIRC) he even states he's rather forgetting that there were any other Thor films.

Not sure how much salt lick I need with that one, given Fiege's endless interconnectedness, but the only thing he needs to hold onto is Loki posing as Odin and then run in whatever direction he wants with it. Oh, and I guess, that weird cave bit from Age of Ultron.

Waititi's talents are perfectly suited to not only the general lunacy of comic book films themselves, but specifically Thor, given the characters self-serious nature, the bombast nature of his side of the universe and the comic's rich palette.

Hugo - Yeah some of our clothes are from victims. You might bite someone and then, you think, 'Oooh, those are some nice pants!'
