Batman: The Killing Joke animated movie from Bruce Timm

I have to admit, I had just kind of assumed Joker had raped Barbara, but I guess there really isn't any real evidence that he a did. I just kind of figure if a violent psychopath had woman unconscious and stripped naked, then there's a pretty good chance he raped her.

^ The joker is almost always portrayed as asexual. Well, almost:

Didn't quite know where else to put this.

At the "Killing Joke" premiere at SDCC, three further animated DC movies have been announced.

- Justice League Dark (no surprise, was rumored)
- Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (quite a surprise, it was rumored ten years ago to be in the first batch of DC animated movies, but seemed abandoned)
- The Joker & Harley Quinn: A Bruce Timm Original

TT and Joker/Harley are announced for spring and summer 2017 respectively. They didn't say when JLD would be released, though.

CBR| SDCC: "Justice League Dark" Animated Film Confirmed; "Teen Titans" & More

^ With how Justice League vs Teen Titans ended (we see Terra flying toward Titan's Tower), I'm not surprised the Judas Contract is being adapted.... Again.

No word on the animated Batman 66 movie Adam West and Burt Ward already recorded the voices for? Obviously it's supposed to be released this year for the 50th anniversary. An artist on Facebook recently said they sent cover art to WB for approval. So it be getting close to a press release.

This is great. I loved the JL vs. Teen Titans movie, and I'm assuming this will follow that. Actually, I'd love it if it used The New Teen Titans instead of the Animated Movie Titans, too. I'm just very excited for it regardless. Same with Joker & Harley Quinn. Bruce Timm is always great, and he definitely knows these characters. JL Dark could also be great, it depends who is making it but I'm excited for it, too. This was a good year for DC Animated movies, and its looking like next year will be even better.

Well, that just sucks. I was really looking forward to this, and really thought they were going give us a better story for Barbara. I'm still planning on watching it, but my anticipation for it just went down a few levels.
It's never once even crossed my mind that Batgirl and Batman could hook up. I always thought of it as more of a mentor/mentee relationship, and while those do occasionally lead to romances this just never really seemed like one of those relationships.
I didn't realize Azzarello was that much of an ass.

Rape isn't in the Joker's repertoire. Keep in mind however, stripping her nude and taking photos of her (bloodied) body is still sexual assault. The same can be said with the Joker stripping Commissioner Gordon nude, placing an S&M collar on him and forcing him to look at naked photos of his daughter in pain.

Finally. The greatest arc in Teen Titans' 50 year history, and easily one of the top 3 best comic runs of the 1980s. There will be changes from the source, but for the moment, just the thought of the adaptation is great.

Any word on the animation style used for this movie? As far as the cover goes, anything except the overused and often inapplicable) Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez licensing art that's been slapped on DVD releases of productions from completely different eras (e.g. Filmation's 1968 Batman cartoon).

A Joker/Harley movie?

Yes please!!!

****
I just finished the movie. I've never read the comic but I knew the events that took place.

While I enjoyed seeing more of Batgirl and the return of Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy, the whole thing was weird. Odd. I don't know what to make of it.

Spoken like a man who thought his idea was genius, only to be hit with the uncomfortable realization that it's actually COMPLETELY FUCKING IDIOTIC, and he's too incapable of handling it like an adult.
