Interesting looking ship. The primary hull kind of reminds me of the Staff of Ra headpiece from Raiders. Any shots of the underside out there?

The bridge window is at the bottom of the bowl?
So in the movie, if I heard correctly,
they said the Franklin was the first ship to travel Warp 4. However, being NX-326 it obviously came after the NX-01, which was the first ship to travel Warp 5. Did I hear that incorrectly in the movie? The bridge looks more closer to a TOS era bridge than an ENT bridge, so it makes sense it would be a ship after the NX-01.
So it was probably just a blunder?
Just wanna be clear, the NX-01 as per the Enterprise tv series is apart of the current JJ verse right? If so, it would be odd for them to say that the Franklin was the first to travel at Warp 4....hmmm...
I think it was a mistake on the part of the writers,
because the plot specifically mentions the disbanding of MACO and how the former soldier is given command of the Franklin. Also the registry points to a post NX-01 vessel.
I would not take too much to heart about the look of the tech on the bridge etc, as
has been on this planet for over a hundred years
I don't think there is anything in the film that precludes it from being a 2140s Earth ship absorbed into the Federation in 2161, is there?
The Registry number just mean that she was the 326 Star Fleet Starship commission since the founding of Star Fleet, regardless if she was commission before of after Enterprise NX-01.
So I'm guessing that the first Star Fleet Starship commission is starship Dauntless. Actually, we really don't know what the name of the first starship commission by Star Fleet.

Scotty says that the Franklin was the first Earth ship to reach warp four.
We could be talking about a redesigned warp scale, to bring Earth into alignment with other Federation members warp scales... We know it happens between TOS and TNG... Maybe it happened between ENT and TOS....
It would make sense for all of the Earth ships that entered into Federation service to get new registry numbers. All the Human, Vulcan, Tellarite, and Andorian ships would need to have a coherent numbering system.
Actually there is a good way around this - warp 4 is the new scale term for warp 6.
I'm going to go with the theory that Franklin was older than Enterprise, but stayed in service and out in space as newer starships were being commissioned and put into service.
When the Federation was formed and ships were being organized, the renumbering of the ships took place. Since Archer and his ship were the symbols of the beginnings of the Federation, Enterprise kept her number, along with the other Warp 5 ships, and all others were numbered following those.
