Moreover, according to The Hill, Romney met up with his former vice presidential pick for the GOP ticket in 2012, current House Speaker Paul Romney, only days before Crate filed this paperwork.

Yep, that source of yours has some blisteringly high standards for its journalism.

I also picked the Cubs to win the World Series last year because of the whole Back to the Future thing. I'm on one hell of a roll. TO VEGAS!

It's certainly surprising that a lot of Republicans in the early primaries put a low value on electability and now Trump looks increasingly electable. He frankly was pretty effective in attacking Jeb Bush and in doing so presenting himself as a different, independently-minded kind of Republican and that he would bring the most change. His ideas about foreign policy seem at best thoughtless and I'm very disappointed that Carson endorsed him. Trump could do well in a general election just by alleging that Hillary Clinton wouldn't/couldn't do anything different or better than Obama has done (Clinton has portrayed herself as very similar to Obama except now quite a bit to the left of him on trade and immigration).

Through the campaign my perceptions of Christie and Rubio have gone way down and Cruz has also declined but he still seems the best of the Republicans and it's disappointing he hasn't gotten more support yet when he's been pretty clear about his principles and proposals.

From my point of view from what I've scene/read non of the GOP candiadates are electable. But perhaps that's because in US terms I would be seen as a Democrat. Besides what the US President can or can not do is largely depended on Congress or rather which party is incontrol of it, witness the current situation re: the vaccant seat on the US Supreme Court. With the GOP apperantly saying they won't even consider a potential nominee from Pres. Obama.

But I guess during Primary season they are appealing to their base, perhaps once they are the nominee the language will change slightly to appeal to independants.

Revisiting this topic all these months later. Trump (despite his flaws) has so far had a really strong showing at the Republican National Convention. His children have reflected really well on him.

Hillary, on the other hand, has a lot of baggage to deal with. We will see what kind of showing she has at the Democratic convention, but I think Trump going forward has plenty of funding to hammer her on her past mistakes. It is anyone's ball game right now. We probably will need a new poll after the DNC.

Both Hillary and Donald are horrible people unfit for the Presidency of the United States. Hillary is a little less horrible and and a little less unfit so I'll be voting for her.

Ted Cruz showing his true colors last night... what a punk... I'm glad they boo'd him off the stage.

Doesn't politics often come down to voting for which is the lesser evil.

Cruz damaged himself as a potential future candidate. It didn't look good. He should have just skipped the convention instead.

Ted Cruz should have won. He certainly articulated well the differences between the two major ideologies and made a strong case for his side.

Rudy and Christie made some fair points but came off as too deaf.

He, his wife and the campaign sure have refused to take responsibility or admit wrong for Melania's plagiarism, we don't need more of those traits. Hillary Clinton also generally refuses to admit error but she is a little more willing to admit that she should have chosen differently and will act differently in the future.

You have to admit though that Hillary's mistakes were much more significant than Melania's. Apples and oranges...
