I do enjoy seeing those "limited government/states rights" Republicans make threats like that though.

I wouldn't classify Christie as a "limited government" Republican. Someone who does tyrannical things like creating a traffic jam because someone refused to endorse him (which I understand he denies) isn't going to fit that description. Claiming that you would push illegalizing all use of marijuana, at the federal level, does not support that claim either.
Christie behaves more or less like an organized criminal or if you want use a less harsh term, a bully. He, as well as Scott Walker, are the most perniscious corporate thugs that run for POTUS.
Trump is basically just a variant of Berlusconi whereas Bush is fairly oldschool in terms of having at least some statesman-ish behaviour.

I just love this quote, and how he arrogantly says it as though it is a done deal:
“If you’re getting high in Colorado today, enjoy it,” Christie warned. “As of January 2017, I will enforce the federal laws."

And yet I wonder if he'll make cigarette's addictive properties illegal? Probably a stupid question. I wonder if he cares about enforcing the law, or enforcing the will of the cigarette and pharmacy corporations who would benefit from marijuana being completely banned from the states.

I think you are way overestimating the medicinal benefits of Marijuana or big Pharma's interests in banning it.

But Jabba the Hutt isn't going anyways near the president not if the Kochs and Bushes and Trumps have anything to say.

The "top 10" lineup for the debate has been announced:

Trump
Bush
Walker
Huckabee
Carson
Cruz
Rubio
Paul
Christie
Kasich

Kasich edging out Rick Perry.

I'm so watching this. It's on at 4 in the afternoon where I am but I don't care. I'm popping popcorn and opening a beer. I'm sitting here and sucking up every moment of it. It's going to glorious.

It's just that, *sigh* it's too bad we won't have Jon Stewart's commentary on it next week.

:(

The real deal is on at 9pm Eastern. The 4pm one is the forum for the clowns who couldn't fit into the car.

Ah, good to know. 4 struck me as terribly early for it to be on but I figured, Republicans, so what do they know about connecting with the real-world and our work schedules and logic.

DVR: Adjusted.

Christie and Paul were pretty disappointing, Huckabee terrible while Bush and Trump did as expected and Rubio got a few good moments.

Trump once again showed why he has no business running for president. Carly Fiorina and Marco Rubio were the big winners IMO.

Maybe Fiorina could update her "Demonic Sheep" ad for Donald Trump?

For those outside California, when Fiorina ran for the Senate in California in 2010 (losing to Barbara Boxer by a million votes) she ran what is arguably the worst, most ridiculous attack ad in modern history against one of her primary rivals.

Her record at HP should make her a hero to the wealthiest of Republicans (laying off 30,000 workers while taking huge bonuses), but might not play well in the middle of the spectrum.

I got what I expected from Christie. While Paul had a couple good moments, I agree that overall he was a disappointment.

Trump says the most outlandish things, and it does not seem to impact him in the polls. Fiorina won the first debate, but I disagree about Rubio. He made the mistake of saying Hillary was the most experienced candidate for the job. That was a gaffe. He also sounded scripted at times instead of shooting from the hip like the other candidates.

I think the two debate winners were Ted Cruz and John Kasich. They both had good delivery without any mistakes.

Interesting to look at the poll in this thread from last fall and see how much things have changed. Jeb Bush and Chris Christie aren't even in it anymore. I really could not have predicted how this would turn out. I'm still not sure how it will play out.

I say, throw them all out and nominate Ron Paul at the convention.
