Galoob Micro Machines

I didn't know they had Star Trek Micro Machines, but I still have all the Star Wars playsets (heads that opened up into icon scenes, etc.) I had as a kid packed away somewhere, and a ton of ships. I dare not check eBay for the Star Trek ones.

At least the Star Wars ones are making a come back (sort of). I'm still expanding my collection ;)

But, yeah, don't look on Ebay. It's depressing.

It all comes down to supply and demand.

But if you really want certain ones, yes, eBay is your best bet. Be patient, though, and keep checking. Sometimes you'll find sets for prices that aren't TOTALLY obscene.

I got Set III for about $150 CDN about two years ago. That may sound painful, but considering those typically go for twice that much or more, it's not that bad.

Looking back at my history, I actually paid only about $30 CDN after shipping for another copy of Set I. I can't remember how much I paid for my second copy of Set II but I don't believe it was much more than that.

(Sidenote: I also paid a little over $110 CDN after shipping for the massive 40 ship Star Wars set).

Jesus, I had the set with the Enterprise, the Romulans Warlord, and the Klingon D7 as a kid. Must have been when I was ten. I still have the Enterprise (propped up against the wall by my signed Khan DVD on my office shelf) but the rest are long gone. I see the sets at comic cons for $20 or so.

Edit: I had a E-D from a cereal box around the same time.... Anyone else have that?

Was it a gray plastic with stickers?

Sounds like you're talking about the TNG ships that came in boxes of Shreddies back in the day. There was the 1701-D, the Klingon BoP, the Ferengi marauder, and the Romulan warbird.

I got a couple of BoP's, and a warbird. The warbird's "head" section broke off pretty early, leaving me with the other pieces to play with. (The underside of the warbird on its own, actually looks like a cool "glider", like ship. I think I sometimes pretended it was the Defiant or a Jem'Hadar attack ship when I was a kid).

That sounds about right. I only had the D though, and I pretended it was the original;)
